Children believe as they're told. Adults believe as they will. The religion listed on the school documents was that of his step father...Nothing really unusual about that. But more to the point, why should anyone care? It seems that the only ones that do are those who keep grasping at any straw, however flimsy, to keep from drowning in disbelief that their political ideology has failed so utterly.

Never said it didn't affect a child. The kids I've met who go to some of the local "Christian" academies are as narrow minded and ill-informed a bunch as I've ever seen. As for prayer in school, I don't give a rats ass as long as it's a matter of choice, a moment of silent reflection, rather than being led by some stick-up-the-ass religious busy-body who thinks they know what's best for the little chilluns souls.

Religious studies aren't an issue either, so long as the views of all the worlds major religions are equally, and fairly, presented. For any one particular religion to dominate public schools in a society as diverse as ours is wrong.
