I have a set of his dvds. Very interesting stuff on them. I watched them in short doses because they were very depressing. A lot to take in.

Unfortunately, many of these directives have been in place since the 1950's and 1960's. It was during the height of the cold war that many of these ideas began, to ensure that if a nuclear attack occurred, there was a government in place to continue the fight or to pick up the pieces.

So in one way or another this idea of Continuity of Government has been around for almost 50 years. If I am not mistaken, one of the first bills regarding this was signed into effect by President Kennedy.

The fact that something like this is in effect is both frightening and reassuring. Frightening that some of the wording is vague, what is a disaster? Reassuring in that if ever a major attack occurred there would remain a functioning government in place to continue the direction of the country and to keep the country together.

Are laws in place to create a dictatorship, yes, but they have been around for a while now. It is important that people point these facts out, however, when they go off the deep end, it really makes it look foolish.

Shouldn't this topic be moved to the conspiracy theory forum?

Did you even watch the videos? If you did, then you'd know that for everything he talks about, he backs up with gov't documents or videos of them saying the very same things themselves...

This one is a slippery slope, what many people are crying and whining about does belong in the Conspiracy theory topic. However, the laws exist, and the fact that they could be used is not a theory, it can be a reality.

This is true. He backs up everthing he said in them. He doesn't go off running his mouth without the proof to back him up.

This is true. He backs up everthing he said in them. He doesn't go off running his mouth without the proof to back him up.Didn't watch all 1.5 hours of it, just the first two.

And no, he doesn't back up everything he says.

One example is his use of the shooting in Alabama. He claimed the use of troops there is a federal "acclimation" intended to get us used to the idea of military helping with local problems. Small problem with that... the whole thing was a local issue only that nobody higher than the local police chief even knew about.

Again, the conspiracy theory part of this whole thing isn't that the government makes plans for emergencies and continuity of government, but the whole idea that they intend to USE that without any such emergency.

Feel free to point out specific time points where he addresses that and I'll watch those.

Yeah, but it is worrisome when the US Military is conducting patrols in a town. I mean come on, that is not something the Military should be doing, as a former soldier I know this well.

I agree with you that the conspiracy theorists make much ado about nothing, just because the laws are in place, and that they do a great disservice in crying wolf, because after a while, we get tired of their nonsense. I think this is the great disservice that they do, for when and if it ever happens, will we be listening?

When the government tells you to report
to the town square, run for the woods.
