Given the current political climate:

1) One could surmise that the donkey, given the choice between carrying that particular burden or going over the cliff, did not slip but rather intentionally chose the lesser of two evils.

2) One end of the political spectrum would certainly call for the donkey to be tried posthumously for treason while the opposit side would assert that the donkey had terrorist connections.

3) CIA leadership would just smile knowingly.
