so, I was talking to one of the local police officers today.....seems we have an interesting situation developing...
our city decided to accept some stimulus money.....funds were provided to pay for two new police officers, so long as they hired minority officers....further, they need to hire minority officers who have just graduated from training....
however, the funds are only available if they meet a particular ratio of minority officers.....and to qualify they need to fire two white officers....
so apparently they have decided to fire a twenty-four year veteran who is currently raising his grandchild and is unlikely to be able to find another job between now and retirement.....
