I guess I didn't properly think through the DNS propagation before changing nameservers this morning. I assumed the "user" would either see the old settings or the new settings. That is, if they got the old settings they would see the old location of the board, and a link to get here. If they saw the new settings they would come directly here. Routers usually finish propagation within 48 hours tops, and then everyone would come directly here by domain name.

Well, I guess I was wrong! LOL Now when I try to go to debatepolicy.com it finds nothing, so I must wait before it resolves properly.

Most might not find us until it fully resolves, and see errors in the mean time. :(

I got that this morning early but for the rest of the day if I type in my browser "debatepolicy.com" I get the old "can't find server" message.

I opened another ticket and support told me there was a zone record missing, and all should be fine within a few hours.

I went and tested, and someone else's site loaded instead! Something about 'Three Gems Inc.'

I'd rather have it not resolve than load another site! Yikes!

Of course I updated the ticket and expect them to correct this ASAP.

as of now this is what I get with the old bookmark.

Not Found
The requested URL /index.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/1.3.37 Server at www.debatepolicy.com Port 80

Leave out the 'index.php' and see what you get

The domain resolves properly now and makes it to my host, but they had it pointing to the wrong server from there. They have apparently fixed it but it may take a few hours to kick in.

Can someone test and see if http://www.debatepolicy.com loads

It works for me through a proxy server but I get a different site still if I go there through my internet provider. I guess the updates are making their way around.

Worked for me

Ok, cool, once members see it properly as a domain name, they can go ahead and bookmark us. I still have to get here by ip address
