How is that Hope and Change doing?

Isn't it great how the country has improved in the last 5 months?

Isn't the world so much safer now?

Isn't the economy so much better now?

Isn't it nice that the wars are over?

Doesn't everyone love the US now?

Isn't it nice the poor are getting back on their feet?

Isn't it great that the foreclosures have stopped?

Wonderful now that businesses are thriving again right?

And thank God that race relations are all fixed too right?

Good to see those evil rich people suffering so badly right now isn't it?

I'm glad that we finally have a president that doesnt lie to us.

If only people would learn from history.

Look at Europe. We are moving towards a government welfare state. If that worked, Europe would be something to pattern the USA on.

It doesn't work, yet no one is paying attention, because the liberal media is too busy idolizing this charismatic "leader" we have - rather then reporting the facts

I don't call him the dark lord for nothing. He's proved he deserves the title and is proving it more daily. The evil just grows stronger while we wait for the next election day. wanna see stolen elections, wait till 2010.

All that complaining about excessive spending and Obama's idiotic answer is to move excessive spending into overdrive.

Genuine believers in Obama's intangible words of Hope and Change (like this women), actually think Obama will take care of them - using other peoples money

Hey, we're hoping and changing into a Third World Country at an accelerated rate, we are losing our freedoms daily, and the thugs in the white house are becoming our Dear Leaders...

But, at least it's Hope and Change......whoo hoo:dance:

But, at least it's Hope and Change......whoo hoo:dance:

Obama presented a $1 trillion stimulus plan where he said he would add 4 million jobs. He did not do so and, in fact, lost jobs in the process.
He set his own benchmark and he failed

Yet all we hear is that it is Bush's fault, and more money has to be spent to fix the problems.

And yes, more government control on business and our lives

Yeah......and just think, all you Republicans could have voted for real Liberty by voting Libertarian and made a real statement. If Ten Million people would have done that we wouldn't be dealing with some of the issues we are dealing with. The left fears resistance. A statement like that would have had them thinking. We blew it!

you could be right my dear..I'm as sick of the Republican party as I am disgusted with this administration...But, I don't think anyone ever though the Democrats would become our "enemies from within"...at least I never thought I'd see it in my life time...

I know it. It may be too late for any philosophy that stands at odds with Socialism to save us. We should have listened to Harry Browne in the 90's. If the Libertarian Party would have been taken a little more serious a little earlier we might not be where we are.

The ideaology is good but I admit it would be hard for Libertarian candidates, if elected to function within the system we have now and be effective. I would still rather see that than what we are seeing.

VOTE LIBERTARIAN for the only real change we could see in America. Let's do something really radical like for instance; our forefathers did!

Libertarians have to sell themselves better. The problem with the candidates they put up is they are arrogant and uncharismatic. That turns people off immensely. You can see how easily charisma gets someone elected by the last one. They need leaders in the party that can bring their message to the people in easy to understand scenarios instead of sounding like the nagging "I told you so's." It needs to be a Reagan style charisma with a Goldwater style policy.

So true, I actually liked Ron Paul straight forwardness and a lot of his ideals, some I wasn't sure about.. But he did come across as being a little goofy..So I think that immediately turned people away..

Theirs the 'goofiness' of the candidates, but that would change if the party grew. What concerns me much more and has for years now, is some of the extremists found within that party. I'm not into neo-Nazis of the sort like Stormfront. When a William Joyce would find comfort in a party, I'm not leaning too quickly that direction.

Here? You mean on DP? No, none I would consider 'extremists', especially not Emmett whom I quite certain is a very tolerant person. There is a huge difference between 'tone' in posts and what the person is. Indeed, my reason for speaking of 'tone' had nothing to do with negatives about Emmett or Libertarian Party, rather the 'tone' had to do with 'blaming' Republicans for NOT voting Libertarian, as if they needed to send a message.

Another think that needs to be taken, most people haven't a clue to what the Libertarian Party is or even that it exists.

I was asking the Libertarians here if they seemed to have more extremist groups, not accusing them of being extremist.. Emmett and the other Libertarians here, are some of the most tolerant people I know....I seem to be having problems expressing myself today..sorry if it came across that way, guys

I thought it was I that had garbled my message. ;) I'm guessing that Emmett or Jeff, the two who first come to my mind, would smack around the sorts of folk I saw supporting the Libertarians on a national level. While holding others accountable, not making excuses, I've never seen either ever voice a point of view for anything other than equal opportunity.

ah jeeze, we can both be off today on getting out what we want to say..I know I've already had that problem on another board..
And I agree completely, Jeff and Emmett are some of the most tolerant of other peoples views, even more that I am at times...

Well I had one pot of coffee by 9am, when it was a cool 80 something. Now that it's in the 90's and rising, I'm onto iced coffee. ;)

You're quite correct about Emmett's and Jeff's tolerance, I suppose that is what I was trying to remind Emmett about, however badly I put it.

While I'm not registered, I follow with libertarian policies alot more than I do any other politicial group mainly because they hold the closest to what I believe the founding fathers wanted. Some extremists distort that view and the media latches on to that because it suits their agenda. There are extremists in the democrat party but its all about the media perception. Since the media is the Democratic party, they control the message.

Thats why I think it would take an exceptionally charismatic individual that was totally devoted to their beliefs to get the Libertarian movement going. All it takes is a leader. The modern Republican party found a resurgence in Reagan. Libertarians need their Reagan.

I agree too with more of the Libertarian philosophy, have so for a long time. Certainly you are correct that all parties have their extremists, whether it's Bill Ayers, Pat Buchanan, or members of groups like Stormfront. The problem for the Libertarian Party is their total numbers at this point in time, which gives the 'groups' more amplified voice. The Dems and Reps do their best to ignore the extremists, writing platform and having leaders that really do not address the far ends for the most part. Thinking about this a tad, the Dems have had more of a problem with their extreme, because their numbers are significant.

The Reps on the other hand, well we can look at Libertarian and say, "Yep, I agree with a lot of what is being said, find someone decent saying the same and move away from the survivalist/neo-nazis and we'll talk." I suppose one could say the Dems have the same opportunity from the Communist Party, in that a significant percentage of their members follow the philosophy, but want to keep the Reps from winning-they don't have the moral issues some of us see as problematic with Libertarian.

I agree with some of the positions of the Libertarian party, but their candidates do not impress me very much

Alot of Republicans and conservatives stayed home on election day and now we have excessive spending, apology tours, complete disregard for the US Constitution, government take over of private companies, government control of executive pay, global warming bills, fairness doctrine, increasing unemployment, Obamacare, hiring tax cheats, miranda rights for terrorists, and cap and trade (which is really tax and kill)

All this in only 5 months

Did I miss anything?
