What a shocker from our VP. Of course the Obama team blew it.

The "stimulus" bill was destined to fail from the start. if you want to expand the private sector you simply cut taxes and give more money to individuals.

But since it really wasn't a stimulus bill, it was a pay back all the Democrat cronys, and expansion of the current welfare porgrams

Biden: `We misread how bad the economy was'

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden said the Obama administration "misread how bad the economy was" but stands by its stimulus package and believes the plan will create more jobs as the pace of its spending picks up.

Biden, in an interview airing Sunday on ABC's "This Week," said the nation's 9.5 percent unemployment rate is "much too high."

"The figures we worked off of in January were the consensus figures and most of the blue chip indexes out there," Biden said.

"We misread how bad the economy was, but we are now only about 120 days into the recovery package," Biden added. More jobs will be created in coming months, he said.

Biden noted that the $787 billion economic stimulus package was set up to spend the money over 18 months. Major programs will take effect in September, including $7.5 billion for broadband Internet service, plus new money for high-speed rail and the nation's electrical grid, he said.

Biden said it's premature to say whether the country will need a second stimulus package.

Utterly absurd.

Historically, tax cuts go mainly to the rich who won't spend as much as the poor would. The best stimulus plan is just giving money to the poor.

It'll prob'ly go higher before this is over. Biden didn't notice how bad it was because he's in a much higher tax bracket, and not a peon like the rest of us, who actually live on our paychecks from day to day, while he gets to save his, invest it or squander it as he wishes. We don't get the kickbacks from other sources as political figures do. What we earn is what we live on.

tax cuts go to the people who pay taxes. The so called "rich" pay the huge majority of fedeal incomes taxes (the top 1% pay 40% of all federal incomes taxes collected) so it makes sense they will get the majority of any tax cut

The "rich" invest, expand business, and thus employ people.

The only thing it stimulated was to ensure that the USA goes deeper into debt and to give government more control over the public and private sectors of the economy.

Now they are working on screwing up health care and taxing all of us to death

That doesn't make any difference. Stimulus is about spending not paying. The poor spend more of each marginal dollar than the rich.

You idiot! Just giving money to the poor doesn't change their circumstances. When that little bit of money runs out, they're still poor, and require another handout. REAL stimulus comes from getting the poor working.

Your shame oozes from these repeated attempts to justify your lecherous lifestyle...seriously.

Not to Obama, he wants MORE money from those who are already handing over more then half their income in taxes to federal, states, and local governements

Government spending on stupid crap scares people - it instills not one single bit of confidence.

It doesn't effect just the rich, with the way the government is spending money and raising taxes, middle class will be affected. There is no way around that, too much money is being spent. It used to be there were non-profit organizations, churches and charities that would help the poor. Also families used to be a strong support system, helping each other which also builds character, integrity and lays a foundation for family values.

I understand some people really don't have those options. My friend who died in 2006 had 2 daughters and she had no relatives at all. So we became her relatives. She did get housing assistance, medicaid for her kids, and food stamps. She worked a crappy job at a gas station (those jobs never lasted long) but she always had a $7.00 or $8.00 an hour job.

However she was a big drug addict and she did nothing to higher her education, get off drugs change her life with the help she was receiving. Now those funds came from all of our taxes. Why is it that for me to work a job I have to pass a drug test, be to work on time & have a great attendance record. But for her to take my tax money she had no requirements for being clean n sober or for working on goals?

So far everything the Dems have done has failed.

This can be seen on the Fed level and on state level where they are in control. Chicago, Detroit, NY, etc

Failing as best they can.

Try again, dumbass.

Stimulus is about immediate improvment to the economy. It's not about lifting the poor from their poverty.

Goverment doesnt create jobs in the public sector.
Never has, never will.

But the millions of Joe The Plummers do.
Just the kind of people Obama - and liberals - hates to see succeed.

The "stimulus" bill was nothing more then mostly pork and more money for welfare handouts

That is why it has not worked, why things hav egotten worse, and why now Dems are talking about another stimulus bill

Libs are talking about another stimulus - they think 2 wrongs make a right

Meanwhile the value of the dollar keeps dropping and new money is printed like it's Monopoly money. Yeah I'm not seeing where there's much confidence in the future of the economy

No, it was designed to create dependence on the government teet.

The more out of work, the less value the actual dollar has, the more there will be who rely on the suckling teet of the government for "help".

Got canned from your job, not to worry, Dems will give you unemployment, welfare, etc.

Can't afford groceries, line up in the government cheese line.

Can't afford health insurance, Dems will make you think you are insured.

Can't afford a car, drive the new Obama approved golf cart, they will even give you a subsidy for that.

Can't afford housing, well, they're already giving that away.

The list goes on and on....

The economic policies are not designed to help America prosper and grow. They are designed to grow government and a "new" Obamanation

Meanwhile, those who still have jobs will pay more in taxes and become poorer

The circle never ends you see - and that is what the Dems want

Utter nonsense.

What do you think happens when government spends money? Where do you think the money goes? Most of it is waste. For example the politicians in the Piedmont here got together and decided that they should provide transportation for the students at UNCG to visit the campus at Appalachian State in Boone about 120 miles away, since Greyhound doesn't, so now there is a transit bus that rides about 4 times/ day up and down that road. Can you imagine siting for three fucking hours in a plastic seat on a transit bus, taking a class or visiting friends then getting back on and spending another three fucking hours on a plastic seat to get back? Anyway I pass that stupid bus every time I make that trip and I have yet to see a rider on it.

Add Atlanta to that city list. Democrap lead an failing fast.

Here's a real ATLAS SHRUGGED story.

Atlanta sits in a large county an has been sucking the life outta the producers in the county in order to support the city proper and non-producers for yrs.

Within the last 2-3 yrs the producers in the county living outside of Atlanta proper said, "FU", and several areas have annexed their own towns. They're doing fine with their own police, fire and public services while Atlanta is in a tail spin unable to operate efficiently. They're shutting down public services, like fire stations and reduced police patrols in some of the highest crime areas.. Pretty cool, but sad, to see a real life example of Atlas Shrugged..This will be America if these IDIOTS in DC continue the current intended course of raping the producers.

3.93 for the forms to fill out for the white men who filed an appeal in the Supreme Court about a decision as to whether they should they should be promoted in their jobs as fire fighters in Rhode Island. Since they won that means at least 3.93 was spent for good reason. So stop attacking Obama saying every dime he spent was waste you guys. 3.93 was spent very effectively!!!!!:laugh2:
