Too funny.

BOSTON – The artist who created the "Hope" poster of President Barack Obama has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to three vandalism charges in Boston. Prosecutors dropped 11 other charges.

Shepard Fairey was sentenced in Boston Municipal Court on Friday to two years probation. He pleaded guilty to one charge of defacing property and two charges of wanton destruction of property under $250. He must pay $2,000 to a graffiti removal organization and cannot possess tagging materials except for legal art installations.

Too funny.

This guy seems like a monster:

Fairey was arrested in February when he was in Boston for an event kicking off a solo exhibit at the Institute of Contemporary Art. The arrest came three days after he failed to appear in court on a charge of placing a poster on a Boston electrical box in September 2000.

In the plea deal, he admitted to the 2000 incident and two others this past January: placing a sticker on the back of a traffic sign, and placing a poster on a private condominium building.

He wasn't wrong. He was just premature.

His "crimes" were placing stickers and posters on private property etc. where he didn't have permission.

But in his hero's soon-to-come utopia, all private property will be abolished, so this guy won't face that problem any more.

We've gotten a few hints of this already - "spreading the wealth around" implies that the people who actually earned the money, don't own it. Government can take it from them and give it to others.

So just cool your heels for a while, Fairey. Obama will soon change the US so you don't have to worry about private property rights any more.

This guy seems like a monster:

Disobeying the law, and then failing to appear to face the charges, are not the acts of an upstanding citizen. Or a bright one. Hope indeed. But many of you Obama supporters don't get those basic moral concepts, do you?

What he did was stupid, adolescent and a crime, but not an horrific one. Therefore, the fool is not a monster.

No one called him a monster. Terms that do come to mind are hypocrite, law breaker, Democrat.
