Alot of these Dems and going to get it when they go back home. A huge majority of people like their health coverage and do not want it changed

I want to know if Obamacare is such a great plan - why is Congress and the unions exempt from it?

Illegals will be covered - that will piss off the working class when they learn how their tax dollars are going to fund the healthcare for illegals. CA does that and look how that has drained their state budget

Just 23% Believe Health Care Costs Will Go Down if Reform Passes Congress

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

Americans are fairly evenly divided on the health care reform proposals working their way through Congress, but most remain convinced that the plans will raise costs and hurt the quality of the care they receive.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 47% are in favor of the reform effort proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats while 49% are opposed. Those figures include 25% who Strongly Favor the plans and 41% who are Strongly Opposed.

The specifics of what will be in a health care reform plan remains hotly debated in Congress at the moment. When a final proposal emerges, it is possible that support could move significantly in either direction.

Currently, 76% of Democrats favor the proposal and 76% of Republicans are opposed. Among the unaffiliated, 35% are in favor and 60% are opposed. Notably, just 16% of unaffiliateds Strongly Favor the legislative effort while 47% Strongly Oppose it.

Have you seen how the public support for Obamacare has tanked - almost as badly as Obama's personal approval numbers

This from the Washington Post - hardly a right wing publication

Poll Shows Obama Slipping on Key Issues
Approval Rating on Health Care Falls Below 50 Percent

snip

Heading into a critical period in the debate over health-care reform, public approval of President Obama's stewardship on the issue has dropped below the 50 percent threshold for the first time, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Since April, approval of Obama's handling of health care has dropped from 57 percent to 49 percent, with disapproval rising from 29 percent to 44 percent. Obama still maintains a large advantage over congressional Republicans in terms of public trust on the issue, even as the GOP has closed the gap.

The erosion in Obama's overall rating on health care is particularly notable among political independents: While positive in their assessments of his handling of health-care reform at the 100-day mark of his presidency (53 percent approved and 30 percent disapproved), independents now are divided at 44 percent positive and 49 percent negative.

and how did the networks cover the voters speaking out against Obamacare?
Well, only CBS covered it - with their own commentary included with the story

CBS Notices 'Voices of Protest' Against 'What They Call Government-Run Health Care'

Monday's CBS Evening News, unlike the ABC and NBC evening newscasts, found time for a story on protesters, against liberal Democratic health plans, who confronted members of Congress at forums over the weekend, though reporter Wyatt Andrews felt the need to insert “scare” quotes as he referred to “demonstrators against what they called 'government-run health care'” and “what they call 'Obama-care.'”

Anchor Katie Couric set up the story: “The debate over health care reform is not limited to the halls of Congress. Voices are being heard all over the country -- voices of protest. And they're growing louder.” Andrews showed how “angry protestors in Philadelphia shouted down both the HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, and Senator Arlen Specter” before he asserted “the crowds are partly the result of conservative Web sites asking for turnout at town halls.” Andrews, however, acknowledged “the turnouts also reflect real fear over the increased taxes and government controls that are part of the health bills being considered in Congress.”

Andrews concluded with the Democrats' plight: “Avoiding this kind of uproar is partly why Democrats wanted to pass health reform before the August recess. Democrats are now out there without a final bill to defend, but facing opponents trying to kill what they call 'Obama-care' with a show of August heat.”

Dissent is patriotic.

Sedition isn't.

These mobs aren't merely dissenting. They're attacking the fabric of American democracy for the benefit of narrowly-focused special interests. This escalates Conservative perfidy from the Contract on America to an Assault on American Democracy.

Every mob is participating the Assault on American Democracy.

They attended the town hall meeting Joe to voice their opinion, and to let the elected officals know they oppose Obamacare

Here is another example of the voters making their voices heard

Thousands gather in Columbus to protest power of federal government under Obama

COLUMBUS (AP) - A rally attended by thousands Saturday at the Ohio Statehouse protested federal government power under President Obama and called for the passage of a measure to assert states' rights.

The newly formed Ohio Liberty Council staged the rally to protest what the council views as the usurping of power by the federal government in areas such as health care and energy.

The council called for the passage of an Ohio Senate resolution to assert states' rights in areas the U.S. Constitution does not grant the federal government the power to oversee.

The council consists of groups including Americans for Prosperity, the Buckeye Firearms Association and the Ohio Freedom Alliance.

A handful of states, including Florida, have introduced measures to assert states' rights.

"I want the right to drive a gas-guzzler and choose my own health care," said Amy Chauvette, 45, of Toledo, who held a sign that read, "America home of the free? Not lately."

"Government is losing sight of what they are really there for," she said. "They are not there to run car companies or health care. They are there to keep this country free."

Though most who attended the rally directed their ire at Obama and Democrats, some who attended also blamed President Bush, a Republican, for approving the first federal bank bailout.

Interesting how the American public expressing opposing points of view from the current administration is now labelled as "sedition" by the same people who expressed such acts as "patriotism" when it involved the previous administration.

As I have been told, hypocriciy is ok as long as it's your "side" being hypocritical.

The voting public expressing their views could only be viewed as sedition if one is a tyrant. There certainly is an attack on the very fabric of America but it is not being executed by the public ... it is being perpetrated by the likes of a particular poster in this thread!

Grass roots anger does not need a community organizer. When middle class Americans are angry they show up. Liberals like Olbermann and Joe are clueless because they are surrounded by socialists who think as they do.

I bet the blue dog Dems are watching these videos with a lot of concern. They are the key to defeating socialized medicine, and they know damn well2010 is around the corner.

It is clear that there is a very large percentage of the voting public who are becoming more and more frustrated (if not outraged) with the antics of the Dems/libs. I bet that many of the current Congress will begin disassociating themselves from the pack and will try to make themselves appear more moderate.

So the fabric of American Society is providing Health Care for it's citizens?

A 55% disapproval by citizens is not really "narrowly focused" Joe. One could say it is actually "widely focused".

My wanting to be only responsible for my own family's Health Care is an assault on American Democracy?

Elected officials have become indifferent to what the people really want, and for too long they have become used to just standing up there and espousing a bunch of warm, fuzzy platitudes geared to get applause.

Now, they are scared to even schedule a town hall meeting for fear that an enraged citizenry will tell them the facts of life - and how they are sick of watching them piss thru our hard earned tax money
