View Full Version : Desperate Dems hide behind talking points in response to Health Care protests

Democrat congressmen are going home for their August break, and finding themselves confronted by upset constituents who tell them they don't want the government takeover of health care the Dems are pushing. Rather than listen, they are retreating and trying to wish away popular discontent, by announcing that it is somehow "manufactured" rather than being sincere concerns of people who don't want government running more of their lives.

The similarity between various Democrat spokesmen's claims is familiar. This was fabricated by insurance companies, fabricated by a right-wing fringe, fabricated by a vast right-wing conspiracy, etc.

Never mind that these Democrats can present no evidence of actual people telling otherwise-indifferent people, to go to their townhall meetings and start shouting. No evidence that the people protesting are a "fringe" at all, instead of regular citizens taking time off their jobs to try to stop an out-of-control socialist government. And, as usual, no attempt by these Democrats to actually back up their bizarre claims of sinister conspiracies and behind-the-scenes manipulations.

Fear of the people who don't want Nanny State government, goes all the way to the top. The President's spokesman, Robert Gibbs, is trying to blame it all on one man, the head of an insurance company... but presenting no evidence to back up his claims, inevitably.

The White House said Tuesday that some of the anger that Democratic lawmakers have encountered at town hall meetings over the past several days is "manufactured."

"In fact, I think you've had groups today, Conservatives for Patients Rights, that have bragged about organizing and manufacturing that anger," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said.

Gibbs singled out Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients' Rights, as the ringleader.

Dick Durbin (D-IL) tried to claim the people questioning the Democrats have no minds of their own, but were somehow sent, robot-like, simply to disrupt things, by persons unknown. He threw in the usual insults and namecalling, but was unable to back up any of his claims.

"Let me tell you, these town hall meetings have now been orchestrated by the tea baggers and the birthers to just be a free-for-all, make a lot of noise, go on YouTube and show discord," said Durbin.

Democrats in Congress who have been protesting the govt takeover of Health Care, apparently knew these tactics were coming, and protested in advance that they weren't doing it to embarrass their party.

One day after House Democratic leaders struck what was seen as a breakthrough deal [on government-run health care] with a handful of key moderates, the liberal wing of the party lined up Thursday against the compromise.

Fifty-three lawmakers from the Congressional Black Caucus, the Progressive Black Caucus and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus have sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and key committee chairmen formally opposing the deal that House leaders struck with a group of fiscally conservative Democrats known as Blue Dogs.

The letter, written to express their "opposition" to the negotiated deal, called the agreement "fundamentally unacceptable" and a "large step backwards."

"We're not obstructionists. ... We're not here to embarrass or divide our party," said Rep. Raul Grijalva, D-Ariz.

The best news to come out of this Democrat deception and deceit, is that they are aiming their replies at people who aren't doing the protesting. As long as they keep doing that, they will have no effect on the actual protesters - a swelling collection of people who are learning exactly what's in the health care plans, and who don't like it.

Barack Obama's strongest claim to fame, has always been that he was a so-called "community organizer". It's highly ironic that he is now complaining that his critics are doing exactly what he used to do: organize to protest a political plan.

The Msm would have to get off their knee's first, wipe their chins and then act like they are reporting....

I thin kpart of the thing is, that the reporters that want to say something against Obama are afraid that they will get lynched and then left out to dry if they say anything negative. Even if it is about a policy and not him.

I wonder at what point the "vast right wing conspiracy" becomes "the will of the American citizens". If the conspiracy gets any more "vast" it will be the overwhelming majority of the population (excluding one or two posters on this board and the despots in Washington, of course).
