wait a minute.....isn't that a list of events being staged by liberal Congressmen?.......

Using the internet to list dates, times, and places of meeting is not 'professional organizing' it's informational. The people that show up are motivated.

Now, when we had the witch hunt for the bankers there were busloads of people sent to protest, paid for their time, provided with not only transportation and cash, but also professionally created/printed signs. That isn't what's happening and trying to 'spin' it as the Democrats are trying to do, is going to lead to problems for them.

On the other hand, having a SS group of data gathering within the umbrella of White House site, IS not only 'professional', paid for by 'everyone's money' and illegal.

If they lock the doors then go through the windows! Im serious! They cannot

... Except your right of free speech and assembly does not equate to destruction of property.

Go to the town hall meetings. Just don't start shouting and making a scene. Personally, I'm for health care reform, but I would respect the people who disagree with me if they would remain civil. These town hall meetings are not 'protests', they're discussions.

Here's an idea - discuss lovingly. View your competition as humans. Be gentle and kind. Yelling and screaming nonsense and premeditated slogans does not make anyone 'right', it just makes them loud. I don't mind discussing health care, though I am by no means an expert. But if someone came into my house while I was typing right now and starting shouting in my ear how horrible I am, I'd probably stop typing. It doesn't make the shouter right, it just makes them rude. 'Stopping' someone is different from 'being right'.

Where does "their right" to lock citizens out end and the right to question and
or disagree begin and end? Whos rights are most important? Ones right
ceases to end when it trespasses on the rights of someone elses.

I dont recall such an outcry of "mob" when the illegals took to the streets
to demand that our laws not be enforced and the Mexican flag flew over
our flag which was upside down.....which signifies distress and that part
was right.

Where was the outcry when ACORN stomped and chanted in the streets?
That sure wasnt a loving display. Talk about anger, disrespect and
mob mentality.....ish!

"Discuss lovingly"???? Are you serious? Why not suggest that to the
politicians in WA who are bought and paid for by lobbyists and special
interest groups and the bill sent to us, the tax payers. Who speaks for
us if we dont? Who makes decisions that are for our best interest???
THAT, is us and politicians are supposed to be doing what we say, not
what they want to do and that goes for the messiah, oh yes, thats still
called the prez.

If we are a mob, so be it. We have that right as long as long as we dont
break the law!

Sorry, libruls, we are using your tactics.

...The colonists were not fooled by Parliament's ploy. When the East India Company sent shipments of tea to Philadelphia and New York the ships were not allowed to land. In Charleston the tea-laden ships were permitted to dock but their cargo was consigned to a warehouse where it remained for three years until it was sold by patriots in order to help finance the revolution.

In Boston, the arrival of three tea ships ignited a furious reaction. The crisis came to a head on December 16, 1773 when as many as 7,000 agitated locals milled about the wharf where the ships were docked. A mass meeting at the Old South Meeting House that morning resolved that the tea ships should leave the harbor without payment of any duty. A committee was selected to take this message to the Customs House to force release of the ships out of the harbor. The Collector of Customs refused to allow the ships to leave without payment of the duty. Stalemate. The committee reported back to the mass meeting and a howl erupted from the meeting hall. It was now early evening and a group of about 200 men, some disguised as Indians, assembled on a near-by hill. Whopping war chants, the crowd marched two-by-two to the wharf, descended upon the three ships and dumped their offending cargos of tea into the harbor waters.

Most colonists applauded the action while the reaction in London was swift and vehement. In March 1774 Parliament passed the Intolerable Acts which among other measures closed the Port of Boston. The fuse that led directly to the explosion of American independence was lit....

Funny thing about educated folk, patriotic folk, they do remember how our country was founded. Now they might get an elastic clause wrong here and there, but the 'idea'? They've got it.

The steam is rising again. I don't think we will have to wait three years for the next shot heard round the world.

I'm not really defending liberal actions of the past. If your neighbor kills your father - killing your neighbor's father is not an appropriate response. It just makes you as bad as your neighbor.

If you want something to be proud of, speak your mind and your views at the town hall meetings without rioting. The problem is, these town hall meetings are no longer discussions. They're just angry shouting that seems meant to disrupt any conversation at all. And when you do that, people just lose respect.

You can share your opinion in a loving and respectful way, and it actually can get something done.

As far as 'as long as we're not breaking the law...'... Breaking windows of a public building is breaking the law.

"Funny thing about educated folk, patriotic folk, they do remember how our country was founded. Now they might get an elastic clause wrong here and there, but the 'idea'? They've got it."

If you're honestly going to say that healthcare reform equates monarch-like dictatorship, and that things have gone so far 'downhill' from your POV that all out revolution is in order... Then.. eh... I guess so? I don't think the majority agrees with that perspective.

If you're really at 'overthrow the US government and start over', then there's not really anything I can say. Otherwise, though, I don't think the historical act of the revolution applies here. Every time we disagree with our elected officials shouldn't be 'Get yer gun' time.

Obviously dissenters -were- let in in order to disrupt these meetings in the first place - so it's not that they've been kept out. However, if I were a senator today seeing what's happening, and I was having a town hall meeting, I'd try and find a way to keep them out now myself, honestly, since I know that no discussion is going to take place. A minority just going to yell really loudly.

EDIT: Just as a point here - I don't speak of 'get yer gun' in a sarcastic or rude tone. Even as a 'liberal', I'm against gun control purely for this reason. Not a big fan of guns for hunting and personal protection and all that, but I do believe that we should always have a means, if the majority feels America is under a true dictatorship, that we can press the reset button. It's a horrifying option, but it's a must. Wanted to clarify that now.

Liberal actions of the past are the liberal actions of the present and will be the same in the future. They have been doing this stuff for 40 years. Defending liberals IS defending what they did in the past.

The shout has been the result on congress critters getting up and lying to their constituents. They were called on the lies and didn't like it. Now they are hiding behind closed door and in secret meetings protected by thugs.

The media will continue to play down what's really going on and call the people that speak out "mob" and right wing extremists. But people are starting to see through the propaganda. The fuse is lit.

Well, Dekon, no one suggested breaking out windows, just going through
them. And arent these senators supposed to be our public servants and
what right would they have to keep anyone out of a town hall meeting?

The window thing brings to mind what happened in Nashville several years
ago when we fought down the state income tax...it was a long hard fight
and there were those who wished to demonize us...viola....rock through
a window to show how we were getting violent.....only problem was it came from inside, not outside where the glass fell...guess
this will soon be a bright idea of someone wishing to discredit protesters.
They were barring us from the legislative process. Kinda like what has
been done to the current "mobsters" in refusing them entry to a town
hall meeting.

I understand that you are sensitive and your intent is to provide another
viewpoint on this very volatile situation. I can respect that and your
delivery, however, I do see the need to "reset" as I see my country
becoming the kind of country that so many others fled from.

We are at great risk and I think you will see things a little different when
you are older. Even I went through my anti status quo but life changes
your thinking when the rubber hits the road so to speak.
