BERLIN (AP) - The IAAF has asked the South African athletics federation to conduct a gender verification test on 800-meter runner Caster Semenya amid concerns she does not meet the requirements to compete as a woman.

At least two other men have ran as women and been outed. This isn't a new thing.


Not first: Dora Ratjen of Vienna, jumping 1metre 70 in 1938 to break the women's high jump world record. Dora was later proven to be a man, Hermann Ratjen

Meanwhile Polish athlete Ewa Klobukowska was revealed to be a man in 1967

I have to believe her. Especially after her reply to a detractor. Semenya allegedly offered to drop her shorts on the track. No one took her up on it.
