about healthcare.

and how the system cheats doctors, by paying them less and less money on medicare and medicaid, and how the whole government system is crooked.

I wish i could support obamacare, but my common sense tells me, government does a great job at protecting our borders, protecting our civil rights, our free speech, and other things.

the government would say, we'll pay you 2200 for surgery and then within a couple of years pay 600.

Its the same way medicare and medical, excuse me and medicaid pay not enough for the services of doctors.

And you dont believe the government cheats us, just look at our border my dear friend

I probably should have said what my dad does or did. He is retired now.

He was an oncologist, (cancer doctor) dealing with prostate cancer, he is actually quite brilliant, and was innovative, in new approaches, that the medical community is just now embracing

you wouldnt believe how slow the medical field is/how obstinent they are to change.

Cheats? I don't think so, martin.

Please clarify.

there you go pb, three links against the public option, and 3 for it

Now everyone on the board, can have a fair and balanced look at this issue, without being bombarded.

and can use quotes from any of the 6 links, three pro, three against, to make their arguments, if they so choose

What are you doing to eliminate it or are you being right wing hypocrits and praising medicare while condemning similar availability of healthcare to other equally deserving Americans?

Have you no shame?

I do not know if my dad thinks it was a failed project, I only spoke of his experiences with government in general.

But i believe he did deal with medicare being a doctor and all.

Now on to the second point, Im not involved in politics this much.

im not involved politically in this issue.

I do believe medicare is a failed project based on the fact, that were nearly broke.

we cant afford it, thats the bottom line.

now I think we can fix the system, but its gonna be hard, but the government has not fixed one problem that im aware of , rather just made it worse, and get the poor poor.

You didn't call names, it's a diversion to derail threat topic. PB, please stop or you will be denied access for thread.

I am more than happy to discuss the subject at hand. You, on the other hand, are obviously setting on ready to obfuscate and diminish me by whatever method you have available. Am I supposed to allow your weakness to effect my contributions here?

How about this, kitty. Martin's dad (a licenced Medical Physician, M.D.))has a problem with a public option in the national healthcare debate. I have no idea as to why he feels the way he does and obviously neither does Martin. Maybe you can 'splain it so we all can understand it?

It's just a conversation, kitty. You don't have to be so snippy about it!

GAO Report Confirms: Medicare Underpays for Anesthesia Services;
Nurse Anesthetists Assure Seniors Access to Safe Anesthesia Care

Park Ridge, Ill. – A new report issued by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) confirms that Medicare anesthesia payments are 67 percent lower than anesthesia payments from private insurance coverage, and that America’s Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are essential to ensuring that America’s seniors have access to safe anesthesia care for surgery, pain management, and other needed healthcare services.

“Medicare pays about 87 percent of market rates for most services, but about 34 percent for anesthesia services—a level even lower than another government report found just five years ago,” said Wanda Wilson, CRNA, PhD, president of the 36,000-member American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). “While the cost effective and high quality services of CRNAs have made it possible to meet the needs of seniors, such low reimbursements are not sustainable, nor are they good for the overall health of the Medicare program. The AANA is asking the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and Congress to work together to reverse anesthesia payment cuts for all anesthesia providers and restore fair anesthesia payment. And we urge the public to join with us.”....

I thought I explained, but ill try again.

my dad in my opinion is against it, because he does not believe the government should be involved in healthcare.

and that real reform is possible without the government's inefficency completely ruining healthcare

can you name me one thing the government does well

protect us? 9/11, open border

healthcare: medicare and medicaid is going broke

infrustructure: look at how they failed in minnesota when the bridge collapsed, and the lack of protection at katrina that left them so vulnerable.

taxes: They over tax us to death and waste 50 cents of every dollars

veterans: look at what happened at walter reed, should have gone under healthcare, but still. They dont do nearly enough

I have used private insurance/healthcare for about all my life, martin. I am now retired but not yet eligible for medicare and my income is above what might qualify me for medicaid. I have paid in many thousands of dollars for insurance coverage but now none of them want to see me under any circumstances. I am "lucky"? I am a veteran. I won't go into that for this conversation.

Kitty is just bitching out the veterans which is common in the conservative crowd. Although I think it's sad, I take notes and pass them on as I meet with veterans regularly. Veterans always fare better under Democratic administrations.
