Are you brain dead? Can you say "experimental"?
As a health care worker in direct contact with people with this new flu I will be one of the first to get the "novel H1N1" vaccination. I have already gotten my seasonal flu vaccination as well.
You have to remember that fear mongering can work both ways. These moms against vaccines groups are largely behind the fears over this H1N1 vaccine. But it should be known that they aren't backed by any reputable science. Their kids get autism so they look for something or someone to blame. They read that flu vaccinations contain Thimerosal (49.6% mercury by weight) so they think there MUST be a connection between Autism and vaccines.
Since 1999 almost all vaccines given to children are Thimerosal free...YET autism continues to rise. In addition it should be noted that the level of toxicity of mercury has been found to be 100 to 1000 times greater that what was found in these vaccines.
The ONE doctor who HYPOTHESIZED that there might be a link has recanted his statements and spoken out against these crazy mothers.
In any case WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT is that you have a greater chance of dying from H1N1 influenza (about 1% chance) than having any complications from a flu shot (Guillain-Barre Syndrome would be the most severe at 1 to 2 cases per million vaccinated).
And like the doctor said, this vaccine is being made just like the seasonal flu vaccine. It's not experimental.
Hmmmm 1 in 100 chance of dying if I don't get vaccinated and get the flu or 1 in a million chance of a severe reaction like GBS if I do.....I THINK I'LL take my chances with the vaccination.

Doctors will start testing a new H1N1 vaccine on about 100 kids from here in Colorado this week.
According to the Denver Post, doctors need children between the ages of three and eight to take part in the clinical trial.
Yer gonna say a "trial" is NOT EXPERIMENTAL?
In Atlanta the home of the CDC, they're giving it to 200 "volunteers"..
It's as experimental as you can get, IMO.
Just because a drug goes thru trials doesn't mean it's an experimental drug.
If you want to get super technical, sure, a drug in a trial is an experiment. But it's not necessarily an experimental drug.
Drugs that have been on the market for years can go thru new human trials. For example if the mfr wants a new indication approved for the drug or if the mfr wants it approved for a new age group the FDA may mandate new human trials or the mfr may do new voluntary trials.
But it's poor choice of words to say it's an experimental drug. IT'S THE SAME as the seasonal flu shot except for the inactivated strain of virus put into it. They're making the swine flu shot in the same way as the seasonal flu shot.
The seasonal flu shot is changed every year in much the same way. New strains of flu are predicted to be the most active for the upcoming season and those new strains are used in that year's shot.
That's why you need a new flu shot each year.
It just ignorant to buy into unproven and poorly thought out speculation. You're putting yourself and your children (who can't yet decide for themselves) into greater danger just believing every conspiracy theory that comes your way. Being gullible isn't one of the best attributes to have.
Remember that the media need sensational stories for people to keep watching and their ratings to go up.

The USDA and FDA have been cut to the bone.
We've seen outbreaks of E coli, salmonella in lettuce and peanut butter and other food products..recall after recall by food manufacturers not the GOVERNMENT. All that and you are comfortable with what is ESSENTIALLY a new vaccine? Yea, lets be logical. Geezzzzz

People don't "need" a flu shot every year. In fact, I never get them. And guess what, I very rarely ever get sick.
