Notice the "choke" comes weak and phony, but right on time. What an embarrassment. This lady is hilarious.

They need to trot her out every single day. The more exposure she has, the more votes for conservatives in the next election

Pelosi said she was worried that the tone of rhetoric around the townhall meetings might promote violence.

She is right, as events have borne out.

Officials on President Obama's staff have urged their followers to "punch back twice as hard" during debates, despite no punches being thrown as of that time. They meant, of course, to verbally "punch", not with fists.

But a conservative activist selling small flags at a Town Hall rally, was attacked and beaten shortly afterward by a group of leftists wearing union attire, who had been bussed in by local Democrat support groups.

Has anyone seen any newspaper articles about Nancy Pelosi's reprimanding of President Obama and his staff for their incendiary language, and/or her calls for prosecuting the Democrats who did what she claimed to be so concerned about: act violently toward those of an opposing view who had done nothing wrong?

Pelosi doesn't have to wait and worry about "future happenings". The violence she claims to fear, has already happened, and is well documented.

Or is she just afraid of conservatives hitting back?

Town hall violence -- by Obama supporters

President Obama recently e-mailed followers to attend local town halls, and his deputy chief of staff promised to "punch back twice as hard" in the health care debate. Neither of them probably expected their backers to "get in the faces" of their opponents quite this much. Or to punch anyone -- not literally, anyway.

In Saint Louis, the Post-Dispatch reports that Kenneth Gladney, a conservative activist, was distributing Gadsden Flags at a town hall meeting for Rep. Russell Carnahan, D-Mo., when he was allegedly beaten by a group of Obama supporters. One of them reportedly flung racial epithets at him (he is black). Gladney ended up in the Emergency Room, and six people ended up in jail, including a reporter for the Post-Dispatch whom police accused of interfering. Carnahan was not present at the town hall when the incident happened.

Pelosi: Health Reform Rhetoric Reminiscent of Violence in '70s

WASHINGTON -- Republicans are rejecting comparisons made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who came near to tears Thursday when she compared anti-government rhetoric over President Obama's health care proposals to the debate over gay rights in 1970s San Francisco.

"I have concerns about some of the language that is being used because I saw this myself in the late '70s in San Francisco," Pelosi told reporters, her voice catching in her throat at her weekly press briefing.

so now we've gone from Nazi's to gay protesters???? near to tears :laugh2:

The Liberals are hoping for blood in the streets.

That is what they want as that will give them the excuse they are looking for to crack down on conservatives.

SEIU chief: We won't be silenced by the 'ugly, anti-American' 'lies, stunts and smears' of 'attack dogs, Teabaggers and Glenn Beck'
By: Byron York
Chief Political Correspondent

Andy Stern, head of the Service Employees International Union, has just released a statement vowing not to be "silenced" by "right wing attack dogs" targeting "progressive individuals" and "community organizations." Stern, whose union has sometimes been linked with the community organizing group ACORN, which yesterday suffered an enormous blow when the House of Representatives voted 345-45 to cut off all federal funds for the organization, said his union will not be intimidated by a right-wing "backlash" that is "fierce, ugly and anti-American." Here is the full text of Stern's statement:

This is a moment of profound change for this country—from kitchen tables to town halls to the floor of the Senate, this nation is engaged in a vigorous and heated debate about how we rebuild our economy, solve our national healthcare crisis and restore the American Dream.

As has always happened when progressive change is in the air, the backlash gets fierce, ugly and anti-American. This time is no different. Right now, there is an insidious and coordinated effort on the part of the extreme right to target individuals and grassroots community groups as a way to silence the voices of women and men who have suffered the most under 8 years of right wing policies.

These extremists will attempt to shut down and shout down anyone with a different point of view.

Let’s be clear who we are talking about—call them attack dogs, call them Teabaggers, call them Glenn Beck--these are the same folks who cheered the policies that crashed our economy. Who make up lies about death panels to try to kill healthcare reform. Who scream about democracy while denying workers a voice on the job. Who target anyone who poses a threat to a status quo that for too long has rewarded greedy CEOs while leaving people who work out in the cold.

This is not the America we believe in.

Their lies, their stunts and their smears will not silence us. Glenn Beck, FOX News and their pals have demonstrated that they don’t care about what janitors, security officers, nurses, teachers, and other hardworking Americans go through each day trying to give their kids a better future. But make no mistake—these hardworking women and men will not be the next casualty of the cruel and cheap attempts of a loud and venomous minority to silence people who want to restore the American Dream.

We are going to make sure healthcare is affordable and accessible for every man, woman and child in this country. We are going to demand transparency and accountability in the financial industry. We are going to create a fair and just path to citizenship. We are going to make sure workers get a voice on the job. And we will protect our democracy by calling out those extremists who would silence the voices of women and men who work each day.

Tale of two worlds

Editorial

At the AFL-CIO labor convention, teabaggers, birthers and other haters seem a world away. Firefighters, ironworkers, teachers and office professionals all took the floor making the case for a labor movement fully engaged on fighting for racial and gender diversity within the labor movement's ranks and leadership.

And action is louder than words. In the last fourteen years, a quiet revolution has taken place in the labor movement. More women and more people of color are in leadership positions. In 1995, only 6 percent of top officers of state federations were women. Today it's 21 percent. For people of color it has gone from 8 percent to 15 percent. The delegates at the 2009 convention are 43 percent women and people of color. There are translations going on for Spanish-speaking members and guests, and others who are guests in their languages.

Unions freely admit there is still a way to go, but it's a good start.

It's this kind of commitment to equality and equal opportunity and understanding that it "lifts all boats" that builds working-class power. As Mineworkers President Cecil Roberts told the convention in his W. Va. preacher style, "The labor movement is wide open for all, we celebrate diversity!" They see diversity and inclusion as strengthening worker rights for all.

The labor movement is also fighting for equal opportunity for lesbians, gays, bi-sexuals and transgender people and the actors unions initiated a program to increase representation in the media of people with disabilities.

Young workers are one of the populations least likely to be unionized and have some of the worst economic statistics compared to other age groups, and the AFL-CIO has initiated a new program to reach out and organize this new generation.

Teresa Albano
President Barack Obama greets delegates at the AFL-CIO convention, Sept. 15.

Some 3,000 union members and allies greeted President Barack Obama with a prolonged standing ovation -- and rose to their feet at least four more times before he was done.

It was a far cry from the hate-inspired crowds claiming to represent America. Shown nightly on the news holding racist anti-Obama actions, these protesters may be working class but these actions only serve Big Insurance and other mighty economic interests. Some are bought and paid for, selling out their long-term interests for short-term gain.

The labor movement knows that. And that's why you have union members, including big, beefy white guys, taking on these far-right protesters. For labor knows which side it's on.

DNC promises 'rain of hellfire'

The increasingly aggressive Democratic National Committee on Friday launched a new “Call ’Em Out” website targeting prominent Republicans for statements they have made about President Barack Obama’s health reform plans.

“Help debunk the outrageous lies and misinformation about health reform,” the site says.

DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said: “The message to opponents of change who would lie or misrepresent the truth should be clear. We are going to respond forcefully and consistently with the facts, and you will no longer be able to peddle your lies with impunity. Through tools like 'Call 'Em Out,' you will be met with a rain of hellfire from supporters armed with the facts and you will be held to account.”

The website is part of a larger, more aggressive approach taken by the White House through the DNC to push back against smears, distortions and misinformation. It’s taken various forms, including hitting back on Republican Medicare attacks with a TV ad that ran nationally and in 10 targeted members’ districts.

The DNC is focusing more on real-time response, with 18 e-mails on the night of the president's speech to Congress and 10 real-time responses on White House czars on Wednesday.

“Every Republican that goes on TV or gets on a conference call or steps up to a mic is getting fact-checked,” a Democratic official said.

The new site’s opening target is Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty. A button urges visitors to “CALL PAWLENTY,” then gives his office number at the Minnesota Capitol.

One of the tools is a Twitter button that can automatically tweet: “Hey @timpawlenty, quit lying about health reform. … #CallEmOut.”

“Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty recently claimed that health reform will lead to death panels — a claim so thoroughly debunked that [‘Morning Joe’ host] Joe Scarborough called him on his lies,” the site says. “And Pawlenty's extreme behavior didn't stop there. Watch the video, then take action to call him out.”

Alex Conant, a Pawlenty adviser, replied: "Seriously, why is the DNC's attack squad so obsessed with T-Paw recently? The DNC's attacks are a transparent attempt to avoid a serious discussion with Governor Pawlenty and other Republicans over how to fix health care. Rather than blindly trying to undermine Pawlenty, national Democrats could learn something from his record of balancing budgets and reforming health care without raising taxes."
