Another one of Chimpy McPresident's appointees thinks Americans are too stupid and need to be 'educated'.

This post was updated Monday evening.

When it comes to greenhouse-gas emissions, Energy Secretary Steven Chu sees Americans as unruly teenagers and the Administration as the parent that will have to teach them a few lessons.

Speaking on the sidelines of a smart grid conference in Washington, Dr. Chu said he didn’t think average folks had the know-how or will to to change their behavior enough to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.

“The American public…just like your teenage kids, aren’t acting in a way that they should act,” Dr. Chu said. “The American public has to really understand in their core how important this issue is.” (In that case, the Energy Department has a few renegade teens of its own.)

The more power they have, the less they feel accountable for it. They can say what they think and get away with it as long as we keep the cronies that appoint them in power.

Rush Limbo caught wind of this story today. He dug up some info on this Steven Chu guy. Apparently this wacko a few years back was promoting the idea of paiting everything, from house roofs to streets, white. So that sun rays would be reflected back up to help with global warming.....and he is the one telling the rest of us we're acting like teenagers.

Energy Secretary Steven Chu made headlines last week when he gave a speech at the Nobel Laureate Symposium in London in which he proposed painting roofs and roads white in order to reflect sunlight back into space. This simple way of increasing the Earth’s albedo—and consequently, cooling the planet—is, in fact, a good example of low-tech “soft” geoengineering. (White roofs could also cool houses, reducing the cost and emissions due to air conditioning.) As Chu explained:

If you look at all the buildings and if you make the roofs white, and if you make the pavement more of a concrete type of color rather than a black type of color, and if you do that uniformly, that would be the equivalent of . . . reducing the carbon emissions due to all the cars in the world by 11 years—just taking them off the road for 11 years.

Of course, only Chimpy would give a loon like this a high ranking job in our government.

A common theme among leftists, is that their subjects are helpless, babyish creatures who can't take care of themselves. Especially, they are incapable of learning from their own mistakes. So government must step in and take over, to protect them from themselves.

Chu uses the description "teenage kids". But the sentiment is the same.

I heard about that this morning on a local talk radio show. The utter
audacity of it all. How dare he spew that condescending crap in our
general direction!!!!! The little prick. And thats a compliment for him.
