The latest decree from the Obama White House is that Fox News is not a news network. This one makes as much sense as saying in one in an Obamacare bill bills that states tax increases will not be called taxes - thus there are no tax increases in the bill

Get ready for more comic relief from your Democrat White House.

White House Says Fox Is Not A News Network
By Noel Sheppard (Bio | Archive)

"I think what is fair to say about FOX and certainly the way we view it is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party...[When President Obama] goes on FOX, he understands that he is not going on -- it really is not a news network at this point. He's going to debate the opposition."

So said White House communications director Anita Dunn on Sunday's "Reliable Sources" in what appeared to be an extension of her shameful attack on Fox reported by NewsBusters' Lachlan Markay Thursday.

So joe does that mean that CNN and MSNBC are both arms of the democratic party??? After all they viciously went after Bush and company for 8 years.

If the deciding factor as to wheter or not a news organization is actually a news organization is if they toe the party line in power we are in a sad state.

But hey thats what you want isn't it Joe, you want nation news and party propaganda..... Just say it with the other drones Joe "Sieg Heil Obama". Has a nice reing to it doesn't it you lousy fascisit!!!!!!!!!:poke:

That's great news since FNC is trouncing all over the Democrat networks.

it only proves that the people in this country aren't as left as the Democrats-Progressives like to believe..

they have all the lamestream networks, so now they have to try and shut down the one that is taking them on...who does that sound like to you? Chavez, Castro?

Hardly surprising. Leftists have always found it easier to attack the messenger than to refute the message. Especially when the message is a critique of their own agenda, which is often impossible to refute.

Irony Alert: White House Praises 'Unbiased' CNN as Network Runs Promo Appealing to Democrats

snip

And now the Michael Scherer slam dunk just dripping with absolutely delectable irony:

The ironic part came later, during the commercial break. All morning, CNN has been intermittently running a promo for Anderson Cooper 360, a show that has long billed itself as a classic straight news program with an investigative front man who digs "beyond the headlines" with "many points of view, so you can make up your own mind." The new promo, by contrast, consists of a woman's voice, pitching Cooper's show as, essentially, a liberal alternative to Fox News: "I'm a lifelong Democrat," she says, "and that's why I watch Anderson Cooper." Hmmm. The voice goes on to say that Cooper is the person she can turn to hold "right wing" conservatives accountable. Cooper is not exactly aiming for the political middle ground here.

Anderson Cooper not exactly aiming for the political middle ground is certainly an understatement considering his juvenile "tea bagging" snarks earlier this year.

Scherer isn't finished. He also casts aspersions upon any claim that MSNBC is somehow unbiased:

But then who is? MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and Ed Schultz are committed liberals, increasingly focused on the dual project of holding President Obama to a liberal line and attacking his detractors. Fox News, on the other hand, is well, Fox News. Dunn, on Kurtz's show, made a point of criticizing Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace for "fact checking" an Obama administration official but not its other Republican guests. So it goes.

And in what must be especially painful for both CNN and MSNBC, Scherer posts some cable news ratings:

The ratings tell the story: In September, according to Nielson, the top thirteen cable news shows were on Fox, led by the networks conservative pundits: The O'Reilly Factor (2.6 million households), Sean Hannity (2.1 million), Glenn Beck (2.2 million), and the less political Greta Van Susteren (1.8 million). The top non-Fox shows are CNN's Larry King (921,000), Countdown with Keith Olbermann (881,000) and Rachel Maddow (827,000). Only then, in the 17th spot, does Anderson Cooper make a showing, with 746,000 households in the 10 p.m. hour.

Ouch!

The Conservative News Network, definitely not. It's a Fox wannabe and it's only a bit better than Fox.

MSNBC does have some bright spots but I'm not willing to call them a truly fair and balanced network.

Look at at all the liberal reporters who have left the liberal media and went to work for Obama

They feel right at home promoting liberal tax and spending programs

What is amazing is that Obama can put on a one hour infomercial on ABC, that presents only his views of the health care debate, no dissenting opinions, he takes a few pre screened questions from the crowd, and has about a dozen former liberal media reporters that are now WH employees, and yet he openly attacks Fox News for what he calls a bias
