This is not Emmett. I wanted everyone to know in case there were questions and concerns. Anyone, everyone around Atlanta, please spread the lookout on this vehicle to everyone you know so people can alert Police if they spot this car and driver.

I received a call about this at 6 am this morning, my buddy is a repo man and the guy that was shot in the stomach is a good friend of his, he was on his way to the hospital, Seems they had trouble with this very guy a few months back, so before they even went to get the car they called the police and asked for help, they were told they aren't getting involved

What makes it worst was they said they had the car and the guy gave chase, they stopped and dropped the car but the guy still shot, he had his car back when he opened fire

Then a high speed chase with the police was called off cause the police said it was to dangerous , give me a break , supposedly they quit chasing on 285 I have seen many a high speed chases on 285 it was actually like 6 :20 when I got the call the guy with the belly wound had all ready been threw surgery , so what better time if you have to have a chase is there than the middle of the night

Seems the Repo man version of what happened and the police are a bit different , imagine that

Never would I ever want to be a repo man. Everyone hates you and occasionally people try to kill you.

I was a repo man in Tampa Fl for a while in the early 80's.

I have been threatened and shot at while doing my job.

It is not a business for the easily spooked or faint hearted.

Jeff, I think the police really dropped the ball on this one all the way around. When I was a 911 dispatcher back in the early 80s we were told that there was a federal mandate that prevented us from refusing to respond to a call for help from anyone. Times have changed I guess...well, we know times have changed. But, I confidently assert that if it had been a cop, a firefighter, a judge, a school teacher or any number of others those cops would have rolled out the Calvary to catch the person responsible.

Scum who would shoot someone over a stinkin' car - a car for crying out loud - don't deserve to be on the loose in society in the first place. Sadly, there are a lot of people out there with really messed up values. If these folks care so much about their hunks of metal and glass, they should do whatever it takes to pay their car payments. If they can't make the payment, they need to resign themselves to the inevitable. There is no measurement out there that can equate the value of a vehicle to be commensurate with a human life.

Repossession agents are a rare breed for sure. Interestingly enough, if someone needs assistance, you can bet that a repo man will help. Emmett works harder than any three other people I know all put together, and if someone asks him for help with anything he's there. Doing things for others is just a way of life for him, one he savors. His peers seem to embody those same qualities.

The story has been updated and now has pictures of the perpetrator.

Agreed 100%

The boy I know that works for that company still tells a different tale then the paper does, but it doesn't matter , it is like you said anyone that would shoot someone over a car is not meant to be walking the streets

This morning Marshall's captured this scumbag and he is now in custody. He apparently nearly drowned trying to swim across a pond to get away from them. Then, the reporter said he was sobbing when they put him into the police car.

What a relief to have this scumbag off the streets!

I think they should take everything he owns and sell it off to pay the hospital bills and funeral expenses that his senseless rampage created. Restitution to victims and their families is a terribly under used course of actions against criminals.
