It will never end!

War surtax: 'Pay as you fight'

Call it “pay as you fight.”

After months of listening to conservatives caterwaul over deficits and health care, senior House Democrats want a graduated surtax on individuals and corporations to pay for another big drain on the treasury: the Afghanistan war.

Three full committee chairmen — including the House’s top tax writer, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.) — are backing the initiative together with the chair of the party caucus, Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.), and close allies of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

and the bottom line is:

Dubbed the “Share the Sacrifice Act,” the six-page bill exempts anyone who has served in Iraq or Afghanistan since the 2001 terrorist attacks as well as families who have lost an immediate relative in the fighting. But middle-class households earning between $30,000 and $150,000 would be asked to pay 1% on top of their tax liability today —

Seems to me that the pending decision is easy then...pull the troops out!

I'm usually pretty good about that, but I got no excuse except old age for this one.

This is a great idea.

It'll be fun watching wingnuts' heads explode when they have to choose between more taxes and more death.

Yah... make us pay for it.. heaven forbid it's the people that are voting to keep on funding it and the President that is saying we are going to finish our work there. Why don't they just do what we are all supposed to do with our fianaces? this magic word called "no".

What did the Afgahn President say about security? That they would be ready to take it over in five years?

I would rather the government spend tax money on something they are charged to do by the Constitution than spend money on crap they have NO Constitutional basis for meddling in, such as "health care reform" and other socialist crap.

Talk about heads exploding! Can you imagine if the ewe ess gummint stopped giving handouts?
