All US Marines are taught the basics for emergency battlefield disarming of landminds, boobytraps and unexploded ordinance but in Viet Nam the job was usually reserved for engineers who even though were very professional, were usually a wacky bunch.....Goes with the territory I suppose.

I've heard of the movie, nothing but very good things. I have every intention of picking it up soon.

It's a very good movie, but extremely tense. I felt worn out once it was over. It's a lot like Black Hawk Down, very minimal on character development, more focused on the actual mission (missions, in this case). The majority of the movie feels almost documentary-like, which is why it feels so tense. All that said, it's a great movie as long as you don't mind some nail-biting!

Agree with Dan's assessment. This is a very tense movie and will leave you somewhat drained. Good acting and directing. Guess that's why it won so many major awards at the Oscars.

seen it, liked it, even if it was totally unrealistic.
