Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is not the only one making headlines for racially insensitive remarks about the president.

Deposed Gov. Rod Blagojevich is generating heat for comments in a new interview, in which he claims he is "blacker" than President Barack Obama.

In the interview with Esquire Magazine, Blagojevich says: "I'm blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little Laundromat in a black community not far from where he lived. I saw it all growing up."

Too bad he didn't see himself fucking up his career and getting tossed out......Maybe then he would have used much better judgement....

It's embarrassing enough coming from Illinois:

CHICAGO - Former Gov. of Illinois Rod Blagojevich apologized Monday morning for controversal comments comparing himself to the President.

"What I said was stupid, stupid, stupid," Blagojevich said to reporters outside his Ravenswood Manor home.

In an interview for Esquire Magazine's Feburary issue, the twice-elected Democrat said he is "blacker than Barack Obama." Blagojevich claimed he was speaking metophorically and that his is obviously not blacker than President Obama.

"I deeply apologize for the way that was said and having said it," he said.

Blagojevich also referred to President Obama as "this guy" and said the President was elected based simply on hope.

He added that his frustrations with the administration's policies, which led him to use the metaphor, were real. "Nothing has changed with this administration," he said, citing bailouts of banks and Wall Street, and "ordinary people not getting a fair shake."

"What the (expletive)? Everything he's saying's on the teleprompter," Blagojevich said in his interview, which hits newsstands on Jan. 19.

"I'm blacker than Barack Obama. I shined shoes. I grew up in a five-room apartment. My father had a little laundromat in a black community not far from where we lived," Blagojevich said. "I saw it all growing up."

The White House refused to comment.... the bolded is true of most IL. politicos.
