Scott Brown beat coakley for the senate seat. After 40 years of being in a stupor the citizens of Mass woke up and told the liberals where to go. It's not even close enough to be contested. He stomped her.

YEESSSSSS!

With 82% of the precincts counted, Brown (R) is ahead of Coakley (D), 52% to 47%... and Coakley has called Brown and given her concession.

Thank God.

Now, will Obama, Reid, and Pelosi keep hammering away, trying to pass uber-National-Socialist legislation, and so trash the Democrat party for the next election? If they do, might Republicans gain majorities in the House and Senate in November.

Republicans had better get their acts together FAST, and present a good national platform of reducing SPENDING, reducing taxes, and reducing regulation. That first one is quite different from what they did in the 2000's, though they're good for the other two.

If they don't get their acts together, then there won't be much point in being a member of the Republican party.

Ball's in your court, Republicans.

There's a number of repub's that need to be shown the door too. The house needs a thorough cleaning. The repub's need to take a lesson from Brown or they won't be kept in the job. The libs never learn from anything, so for them it will be business as usual.

I hope it also destroys the dreams of amnesty for the 20 million illegal alien criminals who broke our laws, invaded our nation, pilladged our resources, stole our jobs and laugh in the faces of Americans.

And we don't need 20 million more government dependent democrats voting for higher taxes, bigger government and more socialist programs...Amnesty would ensure Democrats would never lose another election.

No Amnesty!.....No Exceptions!

You have to have 60 to over turn a filibuster.

60 votes for cloture in the Senate overrides debate and discussion (filibustering) and forces the bill at hand to be voted upon.

So Ted Kennedy, who held the seat for over 40 years, who never needed to campaign, who was an automatic on election day in the most liberal state of the union sees his dreams of Government Run Healthcare all go down becuase Massachusetts elected a Republican to the Senate. About the most unlikely thing to happen in US politics over the last 30 years. I think it will hold up for the rest of the year too.

I think you'll see a few dems break away from the Obama/Reid/Pelosi agenda in hopes of re-election...not sure they'll be forgiven that easily though.

It is moments like these when I miss Virgil :laugh2:

I remember how he was gloating when Freakin was seated, and he posted how he was so happy to "rub our noses in it"

I wonder how the hope and change is doing for him right now?

60 votes for cloture in the Senate overrides debate and discussion (filibustering) and forces the bill at hand to be voted upon. They can always bribe Olympia Snowe.

Or they could simply change the rules for breaking a filibuster. Whatever happened to the old rules to do this, requiring actually having to be at the podium? Wasn't it the Democrats who changed the filibuster rules to make it easier to quash Republican bills?

Not even in the grave for 90 days, Teddy must be turning over in it as well as Bobby and Johnny!!!!!

After 47 years, a Republican holds the seat once held by the Liberal lion.

Next time the Dems run a candidate here are a few simple facts that they should keep in mind!!!!!

1) Curt Shilling is a Baseball GOD!!!! Bloody sock, beating the Yankees!!!!!!!!

2) Tom Brady is a Football GOD!!! The greatest QB in the history of New England FOOTBALL!

3) Bill Bellichik is the New England answer to Vince Lombardi!!!

If their candidate can keep this in mind and not call Curt Shilling a Yankee fan, they might prove they are not out of touch with the working people of Massachusetts.

Oh that and the fact that Massachusetts has a state run insurance program that provides 97% of its residents with health insurance!!!!

That was probably a fact Obama should have known before stumping for Coakley on his need for her in the health care vote!!!!!! Damn them facts are really stupid things!!!!
