Democratic leaders insisted they planned to press ahead with health reform, and met late into Tuesday night in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. But they made no decisions about how to proceed, now that Brown has swept away the Democrats’ filibuster-proof 60-vote majority in the Senate.

Their options are few, and extremely complex, mostly involving legislative tactics that would be difficult to pull off in the best of circumstances...

Pelosi insisted Democrats could still make it happen. "We will get the job done. I am confident of that. I have always been confident of that," she told reporters as she left the Capitol at 11:30 p.m.

I originally wrote suicide then changed my mind to murder. She's probably safe no matter what in her district, albeit she won't be Speaker.

I'm not so sure even she is safe. This kind race has a way of energizing those who were discouraged and apathetic. Also, I think folks of all political stripes are starting to understand what the liberal socialist agenda is going to cost them personally and they don't like it.

Yeah but... San Fran Sicko?

Heh...good point. On the other hand, a few weeks ago, Brown didn't stand a chance.

Heh...good point. On the other hand, a few weeks ago, Brown didn't stand a chance. Yeah but as a Senate candidate Scott ran at large. If you look a the returns by district he lost in the big cities. Since Pelosi's a congressman she only has to run in her district, which is full of queers and other deniers of reality.
