Much has been made, and I am certain much more will be made of the fact that the US' involvement in Iraq has exceeded the duration of our involvement in WWII.

There will be some comparisons that are not made, though, because it will not fit in to the agenda of the media who is presenting their view, and that of Harry Reid.....

US casualties in WWII were 407,000 military deaths (by comparison 3315 US soldiers have perished in Iraq to date...may they all rest in peace)

Combatants were dressed in military uniforms and easily idnetified as "the enemy," unlike the insurgents from many Muslim thugs who are seeking their selfish marytrdom, at the expense of thousands of innocent civilians of all religions.

The difference is, WWII was a real war, provoked when we were attacked by a real enemy.

As opposed to personal war of aggression and retribution, where a single American leader decided he needed to avenge his daddy. At the cost of thousands of American lives and billions of dollars.

I've read that too. More plausible is the theory that we had broken the Japanese code and knew that the attack on Pearl Harbor was coming. Which is why the Navy moved its largest vessels out of port.

Do you pine for the "old days," when a war was about killing millions and losing millions of men in combat?

How do you define a REAL war? I would love for you to explain this to the boys and girls who have lost parts of their bodies fighting in this "pretend" war, or whatever you would call it.

Your synopsis is very meager in its utilization of reality, and I am afraid you use a few too many of the old passé cliches, as well, that are fallacies that elementary anti-war ideologues try to pass as fact associated with the POTUS.

I define a "real" war as one that is fought for a just and necessary cause. During WWII, you had Hitler and the Japanese warlords making territorial acquisitions in order to fulfill their desire for world domination. Their Axis threatened world freedom.
Now, you have Bush making the territorial acquisitions. Iraq is a war started by the Bush administration, without provocation. There is no defined "enemy" and no real threat to world freedom.

Its amazing how utterly brain dead and delusionally bitter some liberals can be.
WHy dont you go take your anger out on something worthwhile, like kids starving in Africa because of muslim terrorists.
Your proof that he did it to avenge his daddy? Yea, thought so, you have none.
Uh, dead brain idiot, more countries were in this coalition than the first one. How can he have carried out this war by himself when the dems voted for it in congress. Hillary, your presedential contender front runner supported it. CLintons adminstration made it official policy to oust saddam
But you have had these facts presented to you many many times and you choose to ignore it. Thats the proof you are delusional and angry. However, by being so, you simply loose all credibility and make it easy to digest you like a white shark devouring its prey when it comes down to a real debate using facts and truth.

BYE BYE retard. Try getting a new line of lies.

The western world has been under attack from radical Islamic medieval thugs for a long time (you only chose to listen to just enough infomration to get you excited, and appease your own self interest, and not delve in to the places in your psyche that may actually cause you to think a bit more deeply. Would you like to explain to me that the actions we are not undertaking now, are not justified, due to the ongoing, continuous attacks from those who wish to destroy the western world (you included) because of the fact that we embrace freedoms that their warped sense of reality cannot accept?

Hmmm we have today islamists attacking all over the world (see Gadgets post) We had saddam overrunning kuwait and threatening saudi arabia and other countries. We now have iran trying to get imfluence in iraq and take it over as a puppet state. We have syria trying to take over lebbanon. We have north korea trying to extort money from every country in the world. We have hugo chavez trying to export communism throughout south america. afganhistan harbored bin laden and the taliban are trying to come back. But none of that counts as a just cause for war? All those countries are attempting to make territorial aquisitions.

The enemy is clearly defined. It's islam. islam seeks global domination. But for you there is only one enemy, George Bush.
