Too bad he couldn't have gotten the death penalty. This was premeditated murder.

And the doctor's actions (killing babies) were not premeditated?

I cannot conceive of any consistent objection that the social rightist would have to Scott Roeder's deed, actually. If abortion is murder and murder ought to be punishable by death, and there is divergence between government laws and higher ethical principles (as the American Revolution illustrated), it seems to follow logically that abortion providers should be killed.

Taking a person's life after due process of law is constitutional. An individual taking another person's life is not.

But, hey, there is one good thing that came out of this. Gabs just proved she is pro-capital punishment.

Yes, and as mentioned, there is a divergence between legal and ethical standards. The typical rightist conception of the American Revolution, for example, is that it was an illegal insurrection conducted for the purpose of higher ethical aims.

Apparently the guy thought it was worth his life to stop the murder of multiple babies since he didn't put up much of a defense. I guess there are consequences for actions, on the part of both the doctor and the other murderer.
