Could this be the year the dead wood is taken out of Congress? Are the voters in liberal CA so pissed they fire Ms Boxer?

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Incumbent Democrat Barbara Boxer is now in a virtual dead heat with former Congressman Tom Campbell in California’s U.S. Senate race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds Boxer leading Campbell 43% to 41%. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate, and 10% are undecided.

A month ago, Boxer posted a 45% to 41% lead over Campbell.

Two other Republican hopefuls, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and State Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, remain within striking distance, but their numbers worsened very slightly this month.

Boxer now leads both Fiorina and DeVore by 46% to 40% spreads. Four percent (4%) opt for another candidate, and roughly 10% are undecided

Fiorina? As is Carly Fiorina?

-Googles to make sure-

LOL, no thanks. She nearly ran HP to the ground when she was the CEO and was forced to resign by the board of directors. Stock prices actually went up the day she left, but of course not before falling almost 60% during her tenure.

Generic Congressional Ballot
Republicans Lead Democrats by 10 in Generic Ballot, Highest Lead Yet

Republican candidates have now stretched their lead over Democrats to 10 points in the Generic Congressional Ballot, their biggest lead ever in nearly three years of weekly tracking. The GOP has been leading on the ballot for months.

The new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate while 35% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent. Voter support for GOP congressional candidates increased slightly from last week, while support for Democrats fell two points.

Republicans started 2010 ahead by nine points, while support for Democrats fell to its lowest level over the same period. Towards the end of 2009, GOP candidates enjoyed a more modest lead over Democrats, with the gap between the two down to four points in early December. Since the beginning of the year, however, the Republican lead hasn’t dipped below seven points

Why good news? What would more Republicans do for America that's good, especially ones like Fiorina? She's already over $2.5 million in debt thanks to this campaign. Of course that's only natural for a rank-and-file Republican, they've never cared about deficits unless they're not in power, at least this is how it's been since Reagan.

BTW, Gallup has Democrats up 47-44 on the generic ballot. It's only March, polls don't mean shit this early on and they can change, even drastically, remember Scott Brown.

And Republicans care about reducing deficits and shrinking government.

I was going to post a lengthy reply about how inane your generalizations and stereotypes are about liberal Americans. Most people; liberal, moderate, and conservative Americans, if asked, would say they want businesses to succeed and prosper, they do care about the economy. You'd have to go to the far, far fringes of the political spectrum, the very tips of the wings to see people wanting business to fail because it's their ideology.

But I didn't feel like it, I decided to simply go with "lame", for no other word could really describe your response better than that.

If you think the GOP was big government, then the Dems are the Titantic party of big government

And the Dems will sink like the Titantic

Every poll shows Dems are going down, and they could not care less what the people are telling them. All they care about is getting Obamcare passed in to law - and they do not even care if there is a vote on the biggest tax increase in the nations history

No, they're pretty much equivalent at this point. Both parties love government and love spending about equally these days. Though you can thank Ronald Reagan for pioneering this trend of massive deficit spending. (and Amnesty for illegal immigrants.)That's not to say ALL Democrats and Republicans are like that, but does seem that's how both parties in general have behaved from 1980 onward.

In fact, because the Dems passed Pay-Go, and the CBO says the Dem reform bills would reduce deficits, and because the President started a Deficit Commission, it appears as if the Democrats now have a slight advantage when it comes to fiscal restraint.

Of course at this point they've basically made it to 2nd to last place so I'm celebrating lol

But don't count your chickens before they hatch, Arlen Specter's numbers seem to be improving, I saw a couple of polls with him ahead, and he's been known to pull off last minute victories when his numbers look bad. Last year he was turning to shit. Who knows what will happen.

The real problem is that the Supreme Court has not done its job. Most of what Congress has done since FDR has been illegal since it doesn't pass the enumerated powers test. The Supremes started letting Congress do whatever it pleased without having to Amend the Constitution, which of course requires super majorities and ratification by the States. So a small majority passes major Constitutional changes without the blessings of the States, and once that started there was no turning back. What we are seeing here is a complete breakdown of the Constitutional Republic, Democrats and Republicans long ignoring the Constitution, and Democrats now ignoring rules of Congress.

If they're so arrogant and drunk with power, how the hell did it take them over a year to finally get near the end of passing health care reform?

Obamacare is the name given to the bill Obama allowed Reid and OPelosi to write. His lack of leabdership skills allowed the same people write the health care reform bill who wrote the "stimulus" bill.

Obamacare wil NOT reduce the deficit. It will add well over a trillion dollars to it. When taking the $500 billion double book keeping into account, this plan runs a deficit in the first 10 years of about one-third of a trillion dollars

The CBO, on the first page of its report yeaterday wrote

"Although CBO completed a preliminary review of legislative language prior to its release, the agency has not thoroughly examined the reconciliation proposal to verify its consistency with the previous draft."

Why have they not examined the reconcilation proposal? Because there isn't one

Again, tax increases beign at once, and the "benefits" start three to four years later. Would you buy a car, make payments for three or four years, THEN take delivery of the car

That is what Obama, Reid, and Pelosi are demanding you to do with Obamacare. So isn't it logical they are claiming a decrease in the deficit with this kind of bait and switch?

Obama has raised taxes - and in this bill is the LARGEST TAX INCREASE IN US HISTORY.

As far as your poll showing Spector ahead, did you read the poll and look at who they polled. All the questions began "If a registered Democrat"

If you include Republicans and Independents - then Spector loses badly

The reason it has taken a year is due to Dems who are actully listening to their constituents. Despite hundreds of billion in bribes, threats, and promises of "fixing the bill later" Dems are still short on securing enough Dem votes to pass this tax bill

So if the House and Senate wrote the bills, what's the point of calling it Obamacare? Besides it being an example of hack name-calling, you haven't defined what this "Obamacare" even is.

Obamacare wil NOT reduce the deficit. It will add well over a trillion dollars to it. When taking the $500 billion double book keeping into account, this plan runs a deficit in the first 10 years of about one-third of a trillion dollars

The CBO already has noted that both the House and Senate bill would lower deficits. Besides that, YOU said it would reduces deficits in your last post, so which is it?

The CBO, on the first page of its report yeaterday wrote

"Although CBO completed a preliminary review of legislative language prior to its release, the agency has not thoroughly examined the reconciliation proposal to verify its consistency with the previous draft."

Why have they not examined the reconcilation proposal? Because there isn't one

You mean the one that they haven't finished tallying up yet, the one that doesn't exist according to you? lmao.

Again, tax increases beign at once, and the "benefits" start three to four years later. Would you buy a car, make payments for three or four years, THEN take delivery of the car

Some of the benefits do, other starts much sooner or immediately. Not everything is delayed until 2013-14.

No he has cut and raised taxes, the Recovery Act was about a third tax cuts going to individuals and businesses. To pay for the exansion of SCHIp, cigarette taxes were increased.

As far as your poll showing Spector ahead, did you read the poll and look at who they polled. All the questions began "If a registered Democrat"

No it didn't, I don't know what poll you were reading lol. The question on the survery went like this:

QUESTION: If the election for U.S. Senate were held today, for whom would you vote for if the choices were between Arlen Specter, the Democrat, and Pat Toomey, the Republican?

If you include Republicans and Independents - then Spector loses badly

According to my poll Specter is ahead with Independents.

It will not lower the deficit. Dems are DOUBLE COUNTING $500 BILLION.

The only thing about Obamacare that starts at once are the tax increases. Save yourself some trouble. The former poster I told you about said the same thing, and once the language from the Obamacre bill was posted he backed down

Obama has NOT cut taxes. He "gave" one tome tax CREDITS - but has NOT cut the marginal tax rates
