WASHINGTON – A Democratic lawmaker says a protester stood up in the House gallery, yelled "Kill the bill" and was cheered by Republicans.

Angry demonstrators opposed to the health care bill gathered outside the Capitol on Sunday. Democratic Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts says that one stood up in the House gallery and shouted, "Kill the bill. The people don't want this."

As the man was yelling and ushers tried to escort him out, several Republicans stood up on the House floor and cheered.

Said Frank: "I've never seen this — for the Republicans to stand up and cheer the guy on." Frank called the Republicans "clowns."

The cheering could be heard from outside the chamber.

Disruptions from the gallery are banned.

No surprise? Don't act as if the democrats are not the filthy scum who are ignoring their constituents to force socialization down the throats of the American people. This is the kind of issue that can dissolve unions as the democrats in DC fiddle.

WASHINGTON – House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats are voting on the historic health care overhaul as a gesture for the American people.

But as Pelosi emerged from the final caucus meeting before the historic vote, protesters chanted her name and shouted to "kill the bill."

Pelosi led her caucus across the street to the Capitol with a gavel in one hand and the other on the arm of Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, who had been harassed by protesters on Saturday.

The youngsters don't have a clue how this is to be paid for, nor do they care yet. They will eventually....and then we'll see how many of them remain liberal.

Once "they" have it, we will all be paying higher taxes and the country will sink much further into debt, and the angst it engenders will have people like you, the same people who voted the blithering idiot we have as president into office, running for cover.

I think this will not only bring a doom scenario for the democrats, but the abject smiley faced dimwitted, slobbering, dishonest stupidity of the legislation and its supporters will begin the process of dissolution of what we currently know as the United States of America.

taxes will go up for those making more than $200,000 there are no slotted tax increases for anyone else and it may actually save us money considering how much we spend right now to treat anyone who shows up to an emergency room uninsured.

We are not here to rehash your previous lies, LN. Honest people can take a look and see that this disastrous mockery of the democratic process is going to cost us all.

When you have manufacturing companies like Caterpillar pointing to 1st year 100 million dollar outlays due to the stupidity of the Democrats, you cannot expect that such costs will not be passed on.

Taxes are going to go up on EVERYTHING and if you are too ideologically challenged to see that fact as you slobber over the possibility of a free freaking bandaid when you scratch your knee, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Dream on:

...The hardest hit won't be those earning more than $250,000 a year--the group that he says needs to "pay their fair share." Rather, it's families whose combined annual income is around $100,000 who could be crushed under this plan.

Many of these middle-class families will probably opt to pay the federal fine, and go without health insurance until they get sick.
These folks will be too "rich" to qualify for ObamaCare's subsidies, but probably too poor to easily afford the pricey insurance that the president's plan forces them to buy.

Many of these $100K families will be obliged to buy a policy costing an average of $14,700 for the mid-level, "silver" health plan, according to the Congressional Budget Office's estimates. After income taxes, they'll be spending almost a quarter of their net income for health insurance.

How can these families make out so badly under ObamaCare? The plan does two things to refashion the market for health insurance and inadvertently stacks it against these middle-class earners.

First, it limits most consumers to choosing only one of three basic health plans. (These will offer the same basic package of health benefits--the main difference is that the higher-premium plan has lower co-pays, while the lower-premium one has higher co-payments.) And even the cheapest option--the "bronze" plan--will start at about $12,500 for a family, says the CBO...

So what this does is disincentivize individuals to work harder and get ahead. It teaches people that they will be punished for working hard, and rewarded for limiting themselves.

What better way for the government to control people's destiny.

This guy was acting the lig to make a political point, as the repubs supported it they cheered, while the dems will scowl,
If this guy had been of the left and making a lig of himself over a repub bill then the dems would of cheered and the repubs would of scowled.
The view someone will have of this is almost entirely party political.

Vandals strike AZ congresswoman's Tucson office

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100322/ap_on_re_us/us_health_care_overhaul_vandalism

PHOENIX – Authorities say the Tucson, Ariz., congressional office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was vandalized a few hours after the House vote overhauling the nation's health care system.

Someone either kicked or shot out a glass door and side window of the office early Monday, but it did not appear that anyone entered the office. Authorities are looking into whether a pellet gun was used.

There were no staffers in the office at the time, and no one was injured.

U.S. Capitol police have been notified of the crime, which Tucson police are investigating.

Authorities have not linked the vandalism to Sunday's approval of the health care legislation, which Giffords, a Democrat, supported.

Over the past few weeks, both protesters and supporters of the legislation spent hours outside Giffords' office, which is located in a small office complex.

Why does that sit well with you? Why do you want people so dependent on government? Also, why is the Democratic platform based solely around making more people dependent on government? As you said, this will bode well for Dems in the future. If they can make most of the people dependent on a check and care from the government, then they are banking on these people voting away their freedoms to live under a totalitarian regime. How is that America?

Would this go the same as NO NEW TAXES FOR ANYONE MAKING UNDER 250,000

That was proven to be a lie, Get a clue Obama is as crooked as they get, I love the title of the thread, Kill the bill, only there ought to be something else to kill other than the bill

yah.. it's no new taxes directly... but if you have a nice enough health care plan, doesn't that also get taxed? Being punished for working for it and having a nice coverage plan.. yah.. that sounds smart.

You are so wrong. Taxes will go up for EVERYONE, that is the ONLY way to pay for this massive mistake.

It might not come out of your paycheck every week, but it will be there indirectly with everything you buy. How do you think companies/government is going to pay for this???

Simply look to Europe and you will see our future.

Remember when it was the liberals that considered the potential of a value added tax or VAT in the United States? More and more, conservatives are starting to express their concerns about it becoming a reality.

The VAT is a consumption tax that is placed on a product whenever value is added at a stage of production and at final sale. For example, as Investopedia.com explains, "When a television is built by a company in Europe the manufacturer is charged a VAT on all of the supplies they purchase for producing the television. Once the television reaches the shelf, the consumer who purchases it must pay the VAT that applies to him or her."

Now that health care reform has actually been passed by Congress, the options of stopping it are growing more and more limited.
