In a recent Washington Post column ("A Battle Won, But a Victory? (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/22/AR2010032201528.html)"), George Will said that the big fight the Democrats had with getting the health care bill enacted will probably temper their determination to wage other battles on the Obama Administration agenda. George Will is one smart man, but to this I say BALONEY!

Obama is a smart enough politician to recognize that the Democrats may become the minority party after November’s election and that he himself might be a one-term president. So for him the time is now or never to “transform” America. He said during the 2008 presidential campaign that he could do more than one thing at a time, so batten down the hatches and watch the agenda items inundate us. Card check, cap and trade, immigration, education, financial reform--you name it! Immigration will be especially important because getting all those illegal immigrants into the voting booth is the only way the Democrats will have a chance to stay in power. That’s the reasons immigration "reform" is the next big item on the agenda. Obama even wants to restore voting rights to felons. In case no one has noticed, our prisons are teeming with lots of “new” voters.

Regardless of what George Will thinks, the only way Obama is going to be deterred in his drive to get his agenda though is if unemployment and the economy demand/require most of his attention this year. We can only hope!
