You know this lady was telling us things back in 1959 and she is right about a lot of things. It really irritates me that the city I live in is laying off firefighters but would rather use my tax money to build a homeless shelter. The cops have already taken pay cuts here and the teachers will probably be next. A homeless shelter is not the cities responsibility. If you ask me that is what a church/charities is for is to feed and shelter the homeless that money should be donated by charities. The homeless issue is a tough one on one hand I feel sorry for them but on the other for the most part it is their own fault. There are services to help them get jobs and give them a place to rehab so to speak. Thrift stores that will give them clothes whatever. I have to deal with the homeless on a daily basis as my job is right across the railroad tracks from the homeless shelter. Anyways please watch her interviews and tell me what you think. For those interested I misspelled it her name is Ayn Rand

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMTDaVpBPR0&feature=related this one actually talks more about politics. But I do find her very interesting and what she says is so true.

The second one makes a lot more sense, You gotta hear them both for it to make sense. I urge others to do the same.

Ayn Rand is quite remarkable...I suggest you read 'Atlas Shrugged' and 'Fountainhead'.

I also suggest you study her history to see the experiences that formed her beliefs and opinions.

2 incredible books and although it has been panned by critics, the movie ....."The Fountainhead" was pretty good..... the problem being is that any of her books are so long and detailed that they are very hard to translate to the big screen. Her work would be best done in a series. This is the court room speech by Howard Roark performed by Gary Cooper in the movie.

The first problem I see with Objectism is that it makes Man the center of morality. Second, the idea that morality can be acheived purely by human reason.

I will have to read those books. A friend of mine showed me her videos and I think that she is right about a lot of things. I will be looking for those books here very soon.

To answer your question I am 31 years old. Yes a very different time and technology was near where it is today.
