Really? You mean that covering 30 Million more people will cost money?!?!?? So much for the promise of well... everything he promised. Yah we got a Reform... but what kind of Reform?

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law will increase the nation's health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.

A report by economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department said the health care remake will achieve Obama's aim of expanding health insurance -- adding 34 million Americans to the coverage rolls.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, however, since the report also warned that Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, forcing lawmakers to roll them back. for the bold part.... duh! medicare/medicaid didn't do enough already! and then they expect it to get by with massive cuts? give me a break people. This is exactly why we should've done a step by step reform, not a sweeping reform.

Doing nothing would have cost more in the long run. People would not have been able to keep up with the inflated costs. Eventually colleges will also hit a tipping point, where the cost of the degree does not balance out the pay increases, some say it's here now.

I, nor anybody really, said "do nothing". You don't fix a door and cracked window by bulldozing the house down. They did a sweeping reform that 'oh we need to push through as fast as we can! People are dieing! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!" oh wait.. no.. the benefits don't kick in for another 3-4 years. good thing we rushed on it.

So then now what? Instead of this 'long run', we get an instant spike. What do you propose?

Doing nothing would have cost more in the long run.

B.S. all this has done is shifted the cost of health care to the public sector where it will now drive up the size of the federal budget and the federal debt. Within a few years, the size of the federal debt will exceed GDP.

The only thing health reform has done is acheive what the Left longs for... control

Control over your health care choices
Control over your life

If Corporations are greedy, the Government is greedy too... except for power... it can never have too much power

When the health care police come knocking at your door in your old age telling you that you have lived too long and it's time to take you to the gas chamber... remember what we on this board have been trying to tell you.

The gov. already subsidized healthcare with Medicare and Medicaid, states also had their own versions.

Until this thing gets going we have no idea the impact it's going to have on our healthcare system, since, as far as I know, the "transparent" obama administration has yet to release the document that they voted into law.

They have no idea how they're going to pay for it, other than a Value Added Tax. Of course if they implement that bambam is going to be shown as a bald face lier since it will tax EVERYONE not just those at the top.

Hope and change :lame2:
