Guesses on gas price increases?

I'd be more worried about the cost of shrimp and oysters.

Yeah those are going sky high for sure but they don't go in the gas tank for transportation. We can forgo shrimp but NOT gas.

Plasma TVs should be safe.
Too hard to carry them in an oil slick

Says who?

Most of the nation won't have to worry, they're eating crappy asian seafood anyway.

Considering the fact that this was an exploratory rig, there should be little or no effect on the price of gas.

Watch the BP prices increase just like EXxon did to cover the costs of their blunder in Alaska. The rest of the industry will tag along for the free ride. Just watch. I may be wrong but I'd bet on it.

$2.79 at the cheap places, but I'm really talking national average.
One thing I know from traveling the country is regional prices vary widely.

Gas was 2.77 last week in my area. The wawa's in the area have jumped to 2.89 this monday. Guess that new shipment of gas has come in. Expect it to keep climbing.

BTW, is there any explanation of what happened? Definitive explanation? I heard the cement process failure is a possibility but no one has said thats the official explanation. Why do we know nothing after all most 2 weeks?

the EU and Russia have put online a story. they claim the rig was owned by S Korea and a N Korean sub torpedoed it ...............

To the attack itself, these reports continue, the North Korean “cargo vessel” Dai Hong Dan believed to be staffed by 17th Sniper Corps “suicide” troops left Cuba’s Empresa Terminales Mambisas de La Habana (Port of Havana) on April 18th whereupon it “severely deviated” from its intended course for Venezuela’s Puerto Cabello bringing it to within 209 kilometers (130 miles) of the Deepwater Horizon oil platform which was located 80 kilometers (50 miles) off the coast of the US State of Louisiana where it launched an SSC Sang-o Class Mini Submarine (Yugo class) estimated to have an operational range of 321 kilometers (200 miles).

Osama put a blanket over it

I think they're a bit busy with containment and pluggin the source at the moment. Just my 2 cents.

I remember Russia claiming that our subs caused the Haitian earthquake, so......
:coffee:
I would like to hear, definitively, if it was an accident or sabotage.
