AND THE PEOPLE ARE PISSSSSSSSSED :salute:

The Los Angeles City Council passed a resolution Wednesday that calls for cutting some of its business ties to Arizona.

The council's move comes amid controversy over Arizona's tough immigration law -- SB 1070. Thirteen of the council's members approved the resolution.

79% of the people in the poll don't like the decision and reading through the opinions it's obvious many in LA wish the Arizona law would make its way west. I guess there are some sane people in the land of fruits and nuts after all.

The whole "boycott" thing is getting increasingly silly. You are hurting a lot of people that have no part of the decision. It's not like something that was publicly voted on.
I love Phoenix and Tucson. We have a trip there scheduled this summer, so we can take our daughter to visit Tombstone.

Yeah, I mean, the whole thing is starting to just get stupid. Whether you agree with the law or not, trying to cut them off at the knees for it is just a dick thing to do.

When are those hysterics in Los Angeles, going to start "cutting their business ties" with the Federal government, too? Giving back all those highway funds, for starters?

Because the same law has been in effect, enacted by the Federal govt, for more than fifty years.

Sometimes those people don't realize how stupid they are being with this stuff..... :) :)

Well I don't know if it has been enacted fully.

Perhaps Arizona should boycott L.A.? Perhaps they should choose to not sell California power this summer? If L.A. is serious, will they stop taking water from the Colorado River? Anyone want to bet that Los Angeles is so broke that they were going to have to cancel contracts with Arizona because they have know money to pay up and this boycott just happens to be a convenient cover?

I couldn't be happier to be out of California.

It's funny, I have recently been considering these Arizona boycotts. Are they really striking a blow against racism, or are they supporting illegal activities?

Parents in that article are pissed also.

One parent has a good point. The school has sent the students to China, are they saying they agree with what goes on in that country??????

Honestly Arizona is simply enforcing the United States immigration policy. If you are illegal YOU ARE NOT WELCOME.

Me, me, me!!!! I'm sane and I live in CA!

Seriously, there are some of us who are sane, but very few of them work for the government so we aren't the ones making the stupid, insane laws.

Did you know that over 50% of my county are registered Dems? It takes constant vigilance just to keep the sane laws on the books. I was a political activist for years .... fighting the county over the rights of the residents in my rural area.

I personally think it's OK to profile .... if stats show that 15 people in a van usually turn out to be coyotes smuggling illegals then I vote they be pulled over and questioned!

Does anyone ever watch Criminal Minds ..... their whole job is to profile in order to catch the criminal. So, tell me why it's wrong to profile for law enforcement?

And since when did Arizonas business become any concern of LAs?
But out and take care of your own business (your, as in general).

I think there is more than enough for everyone to do to get through
the quagmire we find ourselves in and CA owes a good bit of their problems
to the illegals they profess to champion in Arizona.

I emailed each of the City Council members to let them know that I am appalled by their decision to boycott Arizona. That rather than going to Kings games, eating and shopping in L.A. I will be going on vacation to Arizona with the money I save from their lost revenue.

Actually, I think profiling is a very wise thing to do.... If certain crimes are committed by certain types of individuals, why waste time and money on others that don't match the m.o? Saves trouble in the long run by cutting to the chase.

I've watched that program a lot. It's really interesting and takes you thru the steps of catching a criminal. Darn good show....
