And this is where the shit will really start going down... these two will have no problem firing on each other IMO.

Iran has warned that it could send Revolutionary Guard naval units to escort humanitarian aid convoys seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza – a move that would certainly be challenged by Israel.

Any such Iranian involvement, raised today by an aide to the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would constitute a serious escalation of already high tensions with Israel, which accuses Tehran of seeking to build a nuclear weapon and of backing Hamas, the Islamist movement that controls Gaza.http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jun/06/gaza-blockade-iran-aid-convoy

I'd feel a little pleasure in Israel kicking the piss out of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. :)

Gaza blockade: Iran offers escort to next aid convoy

What "next" aid convoy? Was there a previous one?

The only convoy I know of, was the "flotilla" designed to provoke Israel into doing something rash - an attempt that failed. Israel stopped the ships, boarded them without violence (except one ship when the blockade runnners attacked the Israelis and they defended themselves, on the rest no one attacked the Israelis so there was no violence at all).

I heard reports that the ships had "aid" on board, but when the Israelis offered to bring that aid to Gaza, the Gaza govt (Hamas) refused it. So, clearly, "aiding Gaza" was not what the convoy was for.

Was there some other convoy, that actually brought humanitarian aid to Gaza? I haven't heard of one.
