Reuters is not concerned with the truth, facts or journalism.

They want to manipulate your beliefs and formulate your opinions.

From this point forward, I will not accept a Reuters link as confirmation of a news report of the facts.

New York - The Reuters news agency has been accused of removing images of activists wielding weapons and bloodied and wounded Israeli naval commandos from photographs taken on board a ship headed for Gaza during deadly clashes last week.

This is not the first time that Reuters has been criticized for images that appear to be biased against Israel. During the Second Lebanon War in 2006, the news agency admitted that one of its pictures of destruction caused by Israel’s bombing of Beirut had been altered with a computer graphics program.

rueters is the worst of the two. But they both have done it in the past. I never take anything they report as having any truth in it.

A free press is vitally important in a representative democracy such as ours. And our press IS free.

Unfortunately, that means they are free to lie, cheat, and generally screw things up, as well as being free to investigate and report the truth. Too bad Reuters feels the need to do the former rather than the latter.

Good news is, other sources are free to point out what they are doing... if they want to.

See:

for more photos where a knife, pool of blood, wounded Israeli soldier etc. were "accidentally" removed.

Its really sad when the American people can't even trust a picture anymore.

A picture was supposed to be worth a thousand words....

not anymore.

The press can't be taken seriously at all anymore. One would think they would notice their own decline in popularity by the drop in sales of newspapers and lousy ratings for the news on major networks.

that's just stupid, like no one would notice.

That's the problem inherent here. It comes down to something I read in a book, and it's scary just how true it really rings, Wizard's First Rule: People are stupid. They will believe whatever they think is true, or whatever they fear might be true.

It's the news, and it's supposed to be true, so we believe it pretty much straight off, until something comes along that calls that belief into question, and even then, most people would still deny the actual truth, and believe the comfortable lie.

When I was a kid, I watched as my Dad would watch the news and cuss at the TV, one day I asked my Dad, "how do you know they are telling the truth"? He just looked at me as if to say, "well, I never thought of that".

Guess I was born skeptical and/or curious

http://zombietime.com/reuters_photo_fraud/Modern journalism is the concept of the left wing radicals of the 1960s, who lost track of the purpose of their profession and instead declared that they wanted to 'make a difference'.

Only their agenda is important and the truth no longer matters...They are now included in the closed circle of the worlds powerful elites whose policies they openly embrace and promote.

As a result, the people now live in a world where the media is nothing more than a propaganda machine and their only recourse is to try to sort the truth out of an internet maze of blogs.
