This is a hoot. Looks like Barney does not pay attention to the current polls shows a growing number of people are rejecting liberalism

Has anyone ever noticed that liberals are forever wanting others to "give" them something?

They should take lessons from their conservative counterparts and learn to earn the things they need.

{all those young brainwased liberal pawns were rather comical} :laugh2:

Well yeah..........liberal arms are always reaching out for some sort of handout. They reach to change laws. They stretch to make the world believe the halocaust didn't exist. And they try to make everyone believe that homo lifestyle is normal. So yeah..............if they are given an inch, they will stretch it to a mile. There are no boundries where liberals are concerned. Next they'll be flaunting lifestyles of beastiallity on us all.....and trying to get laws passed where they can marry their cow.....

Libs use the same excuse when they run things and fall on their ass. Either the funding for the programs was inadequate, the right people were not running the programs, the voters did not allow enough time for the programs to work, the right wing hate media poisoned the minds of the voters, the voters did not "get" how complicated the issues really are, or how the Dems did not get their message out.

Then they fall back on Barney's talking points - it's not out fault - we did not have enough power to "change" things

Learned this just today ... ever hear of the Overton Window (Beck wrote a book using this theory as his plot line)...

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Overton window is a concept in political theory, named after its originator, Joseph P. Overton (4 January 1960 - 30 June 2003), former vice president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. It describes a "window" in the range of public reactions to ideas in public discourse, in a spectrum of all possible options on a particular issue.

At any given moment the “window” includes a range of policies considered to be politically acceptable in the current climate of public opinion, with “acceptable” defined as something a politician can recommend without being considered too “extreme” or outside the mainstream to gain or keep public office. Overton arranged the spectrum on a vertical axis with policies defined as “more free” at the top and “less free” at the bottom, where “free” is defined as less subject to government intervention. When the window moves or expands, it means that ideas previously not considered politically acceptable have become so, and possibly that ideas previously considered acceptable are no longer.

The degrees of acceptance of public ideas can be described roughly as:

Unthinkable
Radical
Acceptable
Sensible
Popular
Policy

The Overton Window is a means of visualizing which ideas define that range of acceptance by where they fall in it. Proponents of policies outside the window seek to persuade or educate the public so that the window either “moves” or expands to encompass them. Opponents of current policies, or similar ones currently within the window, likewise seek to convince people that these should be considered unacceptable.

Other formulations of the process created after Overton's death add the concept of moving the window by deliberately promoting ideas even less acceptable than the previous "outer fringe" ideas. That makes those old fringe ideas look less extreme, and thereby acceptable. The idea is that priming the public with fringe ideas intended to be and remain unacceptable, will make the real target ideas seem more acceptable by comparison. (This might be a form of the “Door-in-the-face technique of persuasion.)
