The Air Cam, the pilot sits in the back and the photographer is in front. Twin engines so they are safer to cruise slow and low, developed for a National Geographic team.

The clouds really played havoc with lighting.

One of the solo planes had a mechanical problem so they used this 2 seater. This was on Friday and they were just practicing for the actual shows on Saturday and Sunday.

Beautiful planes! Awesome pics!!! Are they all yours? Were they all from ground level? Some of them look like you were in plane next to them.

Thanks, I was on the ground.... I think. They were a lot closer to the crowd than typical air shows, I had my 18-200(the equivalent of around 27-300 on a 35 mm camera) lens on my D300...... I was needing a monopod by the end of the show.

The 2 P-51s are mine............:laugh2: yea sure, they burn at least 60 gallons of 100 octane avgas an hour, I couldn't afford the nitrogen in the tires.

It's a really fun show, people fly their planes in from around the country and many camp out under the wings for the week. There are plenty of good places to eat and showers are available......... pretty cool, we may actually fly there next year. The little red plane is the type my brothers and I have, we are still restoring it, it is 61 years old but will be almost new when finished. I think we are going to use a variation of the paint scheme on the blue and white plane in the photos.

Cessna 140? or Taylor craft?

The solid red 1949 Piper Clipper, that one won Oshkosh a year or two ago. The chrome and red one is a gorgeous 140. The blue and white tail dragger is a heavily modified Piper Pacer with a 160 horse.

Here it is, watch the performance. With the slotted leading edge it has a stall speed of around 25 mph! Watch the take off, no flaps!

It's almost like a giant sky kayak. Most of your body is above the fuselage when you sit in it. My little brother wants to get one of these, use it for aerial photography which would help make it somewhat of a tax write off. They are about 85 grand used. It is really large when on floats though and would take up most of a personal hanger. It would be an amazing fishing boat.

Yep that super cub is something...but ya know he had one hell of a headwind to do that.

It reminds me of a Caribou (like in the pic) I watched doing touch & goes on a 2800' runway. Impressive!
