Back when General David Petraeus was committing the unforgivable sin of saying our troops were starting to make progress in Iraq while George W. Bush was Commander-in-Chief, the left-whacko group MoveOn.org ran a full-page ad in the New York Times accusing the General of betraying his country, telling lies, engaging in "ethnic cleansing", etc. All without providing any examples, of course. And with never a mention of the troop surge guided by Petraeus that won the war, ensured freedom for Iraq, and proved the whackos wrong. Since then, they have had that ad prominently displayed on their website.

Until yesterday, that is. When it became clear that their hero President Obama was about to put Petraeus in charge of the war the leftists had supported in their efforts to smear Bush, apparently he suddenly became a good guy. MoveOn.org has abruptly removed the ad and re-routed the links to it, to point elsewhere.

To paraphrase George Orwell, MoveOn.org is no longer at war with Petraeus, MoveOn.org has never been at war with Petraeus. MoveOn.org is at war with __________ (player to be named later).

MoveOn.org is a far-left group put together when evidence was mounting against then-President Bill Clinton (D-AR) of his lying to Congress, altering evidence, and lying to a Federal judge. The group's name came from their constant attempts to keep people from examining that evidence, and their desperate claims that it wasn't worth seeing or evaluation. Their quest failed, the evidence was made public and examined, and Clinton was impeached.

MoveOn Scrubs “General Betray Us” Page From Website . . .

Update: Flashback to 2007, Obama Skipped Senate Vote to Condemn MoveOn . . .

Update 1: Rationale Page Also Flushed. . .
It was there the last time Google cache took a screen shot of it (June 18th), so it was scrubbed sometime between then and today. If you try the link now (http://pol.moveon.org/petraeus.htm) it goes to MoveOn’s default page.

The despicable ad was a crowning achievement for MoveOn.org, but their blind obedience to Hope-N-Change has trumped their dignity.

Update 2: According to a lorien1973 (a Hot Air regular), the page was up this morning…

Update 3: MoveOn also scrubbed the page explaining their rationale behind the ad: Google cache link here as of June 19th (http://pol.moveon.org/petraeus.htmll)

MoveOn should scrub everything from their site.

They're a totally unreliable source of information.

How silly. Isn't it obvious that if the ad isn't there anymore it never happened?? After all, libs and Dems rewrite history all the time and selective memory is one of the key attributes for any member of that crowd.

wow, talk about rewriting history. Im watching Glen Beck right now, and apparently FDR, at Yalta, told the others he was going to offer the King of Saudi Arabia, the six million American Jews. ???,, It has been blacked out, deleted, removed from the official records and copies, but this guy Beck is interviewing, has a copy of an unaltered document that has that line in it.
