I seen that this billboard was put up by a local Tea Party somewhere, and has been critisized by liberals of course, but also by other Tea Party members as well.

Go figure?

Yes, words are needed. Words like Ignorant...To describe the utter ignorance of history represented by that bill board. Words like Distortion...To describe not just the distortion of politics and policy, not to mention the thought processes, behind the bill board. Words like Confused...To describe those who mindlessly, reflexively adhere to hatred inherent in the bill board's message.

There are more words than I have time to enumerate. Suffice it to say that the sentiments behind the bill board have no basis in reality. The parties behind it display a profound ignorance of just what communism, Nazism and representative democracy really mean. whether that ignorance is willful or naive is irrelevant. What is important is the utter recklessness the backers of the Tea-Party "movement" display in promoting their message of hatred in disregard for the facts and forces of history which fly directly in the face of their assertions. Unchecked, they represent the real threat to the Republic. Checked, not by force, but by an educated, engaged electorate able to well discern the facts from the fantasy being purveyed by the tea-baggers.

LOL!!

You have the gall to post this after YOU played the Nazi card since I have been reading your posts?

BP, you are like most on the left that forget all the hate, rage, death wishes, and venom your side sprewed over the 8 years of Pres Bush

I have said before I do not like anyone playing the Nazi card since it diminishes what the Nazis were and what they did. They turned a hyge portion of the Earth into a graveyard as they killed 50 million people

But libs always fall back on the Nazi (and racist) card when they can't defend their policies

BTW BP, how is all that hope and change doing for you? Looking forward to November?

Marx was a socialist, just like The Obama. I noticed you had no complaint about that.

I would say comparing Hitler and Obama is inaccurate. Hitler rallied his nation by finding scapegoats outside of Germany. He blamed Jews and foreigners for all of Germany's troubles. He created a Nationalistic frenzy to get people on his side.

Obama did it by degrading his own country. He pandered to the people that hated the US and wanted to change the way it was run. They wanted to change the US in their image and make it bow down to the world and become part of the global community.

Both leaders were charismatic and had/have socialistic views of the government structure but their methods are completely different. So I don't think its a fair comparison.

Well, I was going to thank you for not calling me a tea-bagger until I just noticed you doing it again, and don't try to hand me that 'I wasn't talking about you' argument again. And now you seem to be implying that I don't really exist, nor do any member of the what you called a "movement". It is a movement, it requires quotations, unless you are trying to tell us we don't really exist, or that there is no Tea Party movement.

Informing people that Socialism is bad, that our president is striving for it, and it doesn't work isn't "hate". Yes, they used a bad way to bring it about, using Hitler in an argument, but that's based on the general populace's view. Actually, in the manner they intended it, to show two different bad leaders who both pushed socialism, they were correct, but in their excitement to prove themselves right, they made an argument that set back their whole thesis.

And do you really want to talk about things that "fly in the face of their assertions", like the continually mounting number of studies showing that most recycling (Sole exception to aluminum) actually use more energy, more work, more raw materials, and more time than simply making the same items by hand? you act like the Tea Party is the only party guilty of ignoring facts in favor of the message they like, but Dems do it up and down, just like Bush did it for 8 years.

Not to worry, Dragon. From what I understand of the term tea-bagger (which I learned on here, btw), I'd guess you'd rather be identified as the bagger, than the baggee; the latter being the "position" (so to speak) such people are putting Obama and his followers in by using the term.

Back in the Revolution days the American colonists were called yankee doodles. Considered a derogatory name by the british. It became a matter of pride for the colonists. The doodle was eventually dropped but the yankee stuck and is still used today. So wear the name with pride. I'm a Tea Bagger.

I don't care which party tells me how good it is for the country's gov't take over private biz
and nationalize health care or bomb and torture people in other countries.
Its somewhat stealthy and in seed form now but all those moves seem to conform the National Socialist plan to me.

A lot of Democrat talk out both sides of there mouths about war. The Clinton's do, both Bill and Hillary.

Obama Said he was going to increase the fight in Afghanistan and he has.
He's even crossed the border and attacked Pakistan without congressional approval.
I still don't understand how we can just fly into Pakistan and Bomb with Pakistan not making a stink, it's crazy. I guess the billions we've promised the corrupt leaders there must really smooth over the problem.

I get the impression sometimes that he'd like to leave but he's not doing it.

What's the differences. same words basically same actions. Just different styles.

the left likes to pose war in humanitarian dress like Kosavo and Somaila, the right likes to put it in a Defense, the flag, freedom, mom and apple pie dress.

But the right has worked in the new idea of the best defense is a good offense notion though. Definitely a more aggressive posture.

Do we really want to go there? Or maybe we have -Iraq no doubt.

Gaffer I know your coming from the best place with that idea but. the good guys don't work that way.

If one of your neighbors threatens you and walks away. Do you immediately go back to your house get you guns walk across the street bust his door down and blow away him and his family?
Your family might be safer but your going to jail, and you should. It's wrong. it's excessive force. More than was called for based on the situation. . You prepare for a real attack if the threat is real but you don't Strike 1st. Especially if your 10 times bigger, 10 times richer and 100 times more well armed than your neighbor.
No one said being the good guy was easy but the other option is to become a Thug or gangster considering every dirty look as a huge offense that must be paid for . "BEFORE OTHER PEOPLE get the idea they can push you around!"
it seems to me.

AND I'll repeat this. There is no such thing as perfect safety.
We can't kill enough people to be safe. there are not enough guards or guns or walls or bars to do it.
The country wasn't founded on safety. It was founded on Liberty. It wasn't found as the worlds only Super Power. It was founded as the freest western nation ever conceived. imperfect but pointed in the right direction. I think we can preserve that here with defense if we don't lose ourselves in slaying dragons around the world.

You don't understand where I'm coming from. A defense is necessary to prevent attacks and keep your enemies wary of attacking you. But when one does you need to go on offense and eradicate that enemy. Make it so he can never attack again.

If a neighbor threatens you, you go to the police. If there's evidence they can prosecute and the neighbor goes to jail. His family suffers as he can no longer provide. You have taken an offensive action. Is it unfair that the police are more heavily armed and well trained than the neighbor? They are basically and army acting in your behave. Other neighbors will take note. They will either hate you, respect you or befriend you.

If you just let him walk away he will come back with more threats and be more hostile and even violent.
