The NAACP should worry about real racism from this elected Dem, who openly says she does not do her job for white people - and admitted it while speaking at a NAACP banquet

No sooner do I post the video I find where Ms Sherrod was forced to resign.

No problem, she has a job waiting for her at MSNBC

Days after the NAACP clashed with Tea Party members over allegations of racism, a video has surfaced showing an Agriculture Department official regaling an NAACP audience with a story about how she withheld help to a white farmer facing bankruptcy -- video that now has forced the official to resign.

Shirley Sherrod, the department's Georgia director of Rural Development, is shown in the clip describing "the first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm." Sherrod, who is black, claimed the farmer took a long time trying to show he was "superior" to her. The audience laughed as she described how she determined his fate.

"He had to come to me for help. What he didn't know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him," she said. "I was struggling with the fact that so many black people have lost their farmland and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land -- so I didn't give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough."

The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.

"There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. "We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.

The push back from NAACP 'resolution' that resolved that another group should 'speak out' against those racists spouting off at locations where tea parties are held. Notice that whenever someone at a tea party microphone says anything that could be construed as even hinting at exclusionary, they are met with jeers and from what I've read basically removed and denounced.

In this case, notice the crowd reaction? They backed her. That is what makes her remarks this morning a bit hard to believe.

My opinion? Most blacks wouldn't consider what she said racist, so of course they wouldn't expose her.

The liberal media ignores any hint of black racism since it doesn't fit into their "white guilt" agenda.

In my own humble opinion, Breitbart has been sitting on this video waiting for an opportune time to show it. That time came when the NAACP and others accused the tea party of harboring racists. If that is the case, it worked. Now the NAACP had to denounce one of their own as racist.

Maybe we should all, black and white declare ourselves racists and put a stop to all the name calling.

And all the liberals and PC conservatives like it that way...Why should such negative news be made public since it only concerns such a teeny-tiny percentage of Black Americans?...After all, they are a wonderful, loving and caring people...I know because the MSM told me so.

If the truth be known, the MSM is probably sick and tired of having to constantly cover up black racism in America, but it is a necessary evil that must be performed time and again to protect this major voting block of the Democrat Party's progressive movement in America.

And they're so damn close to their dream they can taste the blood in the water...All they need to do is keep those dumb-ass gullible white suckers fooled just a little bit longer...It's not hard to do, they've been PC indoctrinated and programmed for the last 40 years. :lalala:

I personally don't care when the video happened, just that it happened. At least Breitbart and FOX have the balls to run stories that PROVE racism goes both ways and is just as intense on the black on white end of things. Between the black panthers and this chick, there is no denying its racism. On the other hand,Jessie Jackson and his followers tend to invent it,look for it,blow things up to be it (racism).

I think true racism is a horible thing for any color. I think white people tho have had it up to here with accusations of racism around every corner. Is it safe to say the word "black" anymore?

LOL! Your logical fallacies know no bounds. I don't think there are any folks standing up for what it appears she said. I KNOW there are none standing up for the audience reaction.

I also know that she was addressing an incident of 24 years ago, not something that happened last March. She's resigned, thanks to the NAACP's actions on that tea party resolution last week. See, elections do have repercussions and not just the ones WE don't like.

The ghetto you were raised in is not the US. Not every white boy or black boy from that ghetto at the time you were raised is like you. For good or bad.

YOU are not the all wise one, indeed you are a practitioner of Alinsky rules yourself, used as an organizer for racist nonsense.

http://www.debatepolicy.com/showthread.php?p=434755#post434755The incident may have occurred 24 years ago, but the last time she bragged about it was March, 2010.

Many remember the past, often the catalyst for moving to somewhere else. Blacks in US moved, but not by choice. It wasn't just the 'white man' that forced the move, but tribal enemies and those that would exploit them. So yes, black history is different than others currently in this country.

However, so have been the wars and legislation in US resulting from slavery.

Today, actually about 30 years ago or so the time for whining about reparations was past. Not something that should happen, though I'd count nothing out.

As I mentioned with some snark the Greeks were really into slavery, not just Sparta, they just get discussed more than others. Athens especially gets short shift on the bad parts of behavior, thanks to democracy.

In the Middle Ages, many of our White European ancestors were held in slavery. We Irish know all about the Spanish, every bit as much as the Mexicans.

It was the Africans bad luck that the workings of slavery changed with the Age of Exploration. Instead of tribes just exploiting those captured by use of labor and rape, they could gain wealth through the sale of those captured.

In any case, there are no 'peoples' hands free from that stain. Neither are there ways to atone for something not done to or by those alive.

No I don't deny that it was a VERY SMALL part of it. The fact remains that by the 1700's the WHITE colonists should've known that it was wrong and not went out seeking slaves.....but they did it anyway.

Kathianne I think there were many 1000's of slaves in America before the cotton boom too. Here in Virginia and other southern states tobacco was the big cash crop early on and the 1st slaves/servants landed in the 1610- 20s (?). But one group that is forgotten in the list of slaves here in US are the Native Americans. Native Americans where a large percentage of many states slave population early on. Lets add that to their list.

But interestingly enough the word slave is a derivative of SLAV as in the Slavic people.
etymonline.com
SLAVE: late 13c.,"person who is the property of another," ... originally "Slav" (see Slav), so called because of the many Slavs sold into slavery by conquering peoples.
"This sense development arose in the consequence of the wars waged by Otto the Great and his successors against the Slavs, a great number of whom they took captive and sold into slavery." [Klein]

True about Natives.

Reason I used the word 'helot' for Greek slaves. Words may change, conditions remain the same.
