What I don't understand is, if the riot squad was going in, why didn't they round up illegals? Seems like a total waste of man power.

As usual, it's not clear who started the ruckus. Did the cops respond to some pushing/shoving? Did they do the pushing/shoving first? We'll probably never know.

That said, I'm glad somebody finally decided not to put up with too much shiite from these ILLEGAL aliens and supporters. That's been lacking for far too long.

Pale Rider, some (most?) of the people in the demonstration were likely illegals, others probably weren't but merely supported the open-borders anarchical nonsense. You still can't tell one from the other by sight, unfortunately, and we DON'T want the situation in this country where police can stop people on the street and demand "Your papers, please!", Soviet-style. The illegals know they won't, of course, and use it to full advantage.

They're conducting an investigation, but mostly over possilbe use of excessive force. It appears the riot squad was called in because the police were getting pelted with beer bottles, rocks, and a motorcycle cop was knocked from his bike.

I'd like to see what would happen to a couple hundred thousand AMERICANS marching in downtown MEXICO CITY, DEMANDING mexico ALLOW THEM IMMEDIATE CITIZENSHIP! Phhtt... they'd be shot.

Just a reminded that protest is a freedom guaranteed to all.
And what makes you think any large portion of the participants were illegal aliens? If you were in the country illegally, would you take the chance to be arrested or otherwise noticed?
Try stepping down the hatred a bit. It detracts from otherwise rational reasoning.

Well, put down the koolaid gab, the march was FOR ILLEGALS, ABOUT ILLEGALS, to CHANGE IMMIGRATION LAWS, and FOR AMNESTY.

Are you going to tell me it was the ANTI ILLEGAL CROWD MARCHING?

Get - a - grip - girl. Don't insult my intelligence.

Treat criminals like criminals, and stop hating Americans that believe in sovereignty.

Frankly, I would have arrested every single demonstrator on probable cause of being illegal aliens, and deported everyone who couldn't prove their American citizenship.

I saw some reports on ABC (US ABC) and I have to say, I didn't think the LAPD response was so bad, pretty restrained really.

That's what they "SHOULD" have done. Unfortunately in America today, the prevailing attitude seems to be surrender. Just give up.

And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings.

I know...sorry about that...it happens...I'll be fine once I get out of rehab. At least I have an internet connection here. I just can't get caught, that's all.

Flowers for Algernon and all that.

You get your flies from us...........we export the annoying little bastards :D

It's flat here for sure. Got a few bumps - anything we call "Mount" here get ready to piss yourself laughing if you come from anywhere other than Mississippi.

If'n you're from that Ponderosa country or them Sierra Nevada thingies, you are going to be very disappointed with our "mountains". Just borrowing a saying from Kansas but here if your pet kangaroo gets out you can see the little bastard bouncing away from you for at least six months. Or until a licensed kangaroo hunter takes him out of course.

Yeah... I'm from that Ponderosa county. They used to film the series "Bonanza" right up over the hill from where I'm at right now. Course you might call the hill a mountain. Guess it is. And the old town "Virginia City" is there as well. They didn't film there though. Too hilly. All the in town shots were a set.

I love the mountains with a passion. They're in my blood. It must be the indian in me.

Lovely country there, really lovely. I know Virginia City is a tourist trap but I enjoyed it immensely - The Bucket o' Blood Saloon! What a hoot!

Try stepping down the hatred a bit. It detracts from otherwise rational reasoning.

Speaking of rational reasoning... there are 12-20 MILLION illegal aliens in America. They drive drunk and kill people on a regular basis. They protest in the streets. The commit crimes far out of proportion to the legal citizenry. They loiter by the dozen in parking lots. They even bring LAWSUITS for personal injuries, take the stand before judges, and say how their little boo-boo is worth a million dollars and the gringos should pay.

Does this sound like a group afraid of being "arrested or otherwise noticed" to you?

Your hero George W. Bush wants to make them all legal citizens... how afraid can you be when the President of the United States is on YOUR SIDE?

There are those who want a reason to protest anything.
And yes, the response was pretty restrained by LAPD standards. They didn't kill anyone.

Probably no cause to kill anyone from what I saw. I'm pretty sure the LAPD has a pretty good shooting record, but I could be wrong, I don't think they they a rep of being gun-happy.
