Grow Up, Already! Calling Women Bad Names Doesn't Help Anyone

<!-- /user-interaction -->It’s difficult not to crow about 2010 being The Year of the Conservative Woman. Never before have so many fiscal and socially conservative women candidates covered the nation’s ballots. It is a heady time for traditional women.
These women are fighters too. Nikki Haley (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/nikki-haley.htm#r_src=ramp), Sharron Angle (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/sharron-angle.htm#r_src=ramp), Carly Fiorina (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/carly-fiorina.htm#r_src=ramp) and Christine O’Donnell are apparently threats to the liberal and progressive establishment, especially to the liberal women. It’s like a bad memory from middle school where mean girls rule the school and lash out when ever they feel threatened. But this time, it plays out on a national stage on network television.
Derogatory language against women running for office is nothing new. Geraldine Ferraro (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/geraldine-ferraro.htm#r_src=ramp), Hillary Clinton (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/obama-administration/hillary-clinton.htm#r_src=ramp) and especially Sarah Palin (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/sarah-palin.htm#r_src=ramp) all went through it. But the rhetoric has been particularly foul and demeaning during this election cycle. They are no longer content to criticize clothes and perceived IQ. They have moved on to character assassination and good old fashioned expletives.
In her cringe-worthy inducing tirade against Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle, The View co-host Joy Behar (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/joy-behar.htm#r_src=ramp) lambasted Angle as a “b*tch” who would be “going to h*ll” because she had ran an ad against illegal immigration. Killing Joy with kindness, Angle was the better woman when she sent Joy flowers thanking her for her help in boosting fundraising at the last minute. Of course, Ms. Behar went back on air to conduct rant number two against Angle upon receiving the bouquet.

Joy Behar needs to be fired, immediately. Are ABC executives hiding under their desks, afraid of her wrath? Get over it and do the right thing.
Conservative women, like Sarah Palin and all the others after her running for office these midterm elections, have played it straight and have not resorted to derogatory name-calling and high-school mean girl antics. Voters will no doubt remember these moms, and grandmas, who endured hate-filled sewage coming from the mouths of liberal pundits, candidates and so-called comedians.
This is certainly the Year of the Woman -- the conservative, principled woman who has shown her incredible inner strength when up against the most vitriol of attacks never before seen on a national political scale. It’s a real pity that much of it came from other women. Is it sexism when women hate on other women or is it just good old fashioned jealously? Grow up girls!

As much as I'd like to see her fired, I doubt she will.

Even though she's gone over the line, I think it was calculated to appeal to the vicious, small minded liberals rabidly hating anyone with a political viewpoint that differs with theirs.

You're probably asking : Who, for instance, NT?

A perfect example would be someone on this very board with "Vile and hateful bitch" as a descriptive by her avatar.

I would say 15% to 20% of the country behaves in this manner, so if a show were to gain those viewers, it would be a popular show indeed. I don't think the whole thing wasn't planned.

As I've said before, I hope they keep her on.

Even after genuinely conservative politicians eventually regain power and the Democrats are relegated to the ash heap of history, we need to keep a few liberals around to remind us of just how bad things can get under them, when they lose arguments or don't get their way (which is most of the time).

Both you and Night Train make good points ..... and you guys are probably right about not firing her .... I know that I would rather know where a rattler is and what it's doing than to have it skulk away and hide somewhere.

I must say that Sharron Angle's response to her was a very classy smackdown and Joyless will give us more opportunities to show how crass the liberals have become.

Don't fire her. Just cancel the whole low-class, screeching, biased mess of a show.

Sounds good to me as long as they give Elisabeth her own show. She's the only intelligent one on there

She is the only nice one on there. I might question the intelligent part.

Although it is their perogative, I would prefer the public fire her by not watching the show
