BIG SIS INVADES WAL-MART: 'IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING'

WASHINGTON -- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano today announced the expansion of the Department’s national “If You See Something, Say Something” campaign to hundreds of Walmart stores across the country—launching a new partnership between DHS and Walmart to help the American public play an active role in ensuring the safety and security of our nation.

“Homeland security starts with hometown security, and each of us plays a critical role in keeping our country and communities safe,” said Secretary Napolitano. “I applaud Walmart for joining the ‘If You See Something, Say Something’ campaign. This partnership will help millions of shoppers across the nation identify and report indicators of terrorism, crime and other threats to law enforcement authorities.”

Anyone remember the old Babylon 5 show that came out in the 90's. This HLS stuff is starting to remind me of the Nightwatch from that show.

I'm confused, what might we see and who might we tell? And if it's at Walmart, I'm not telling anyone I was there.

I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis has one of the highest crime/murder rates in the WORLD. The "if you see something, say something" policy has been a policy there for as long as I can remember. The crime rate continues except with more irrational paranoia and less real protection now. It's cheaper than buying more cameras and hiring more cops. I think that article was a back door attempt for free advertisement for Wal-Mart. BOOOOOOOOOOOOO

PsychobluesIt really isn't so much the act of seeing a crime and reporting it... it is the "brain washing" with video and other media constantly telling us to "tell on one another"...

Yes that is exactly what it is BRAIN WASHING... Unfortunately there are MANY stupid people in this country that will take this to the next level....
