Ralphie From 'A Christmas Story,' All Grown Up

Every year a new audience is introduced to "A Christmas Story," the 1983 movie about a Depression-era family that became an unlikely Christmas classic when TBS started playing it nearly around the clock every holiday season. Peter Billingsley memorably played Ralphie, the bespectacled blond boy who wanted just one thing for Christmas: a Red Ryder BB gun. Now Billingsley is all grown up and making movies himself, and talking in depth about "A Christmas Story" for the first time

That was set in a time period I grew up in. That was chrismas time in my town and I can so relate to that movie. At that age I so wanted a BB gun too.

The Red Ryder BB gun thing. All of my brothers and me had BB guns at about age 7 or 8. We all had 22 rifles at age 10 and were carrying pistols by age 16. It really is a wonder that we didn't all shoot our eyes out or wind up in prison for at least manslaughter by age 18. That's what I most hated about the Air Force. They wouldn't let me carry my 38 then 45 like I wanted.

Merry Christmas
