As Congresswomen Gifford fightrs for life, the left is showing their true colors and their conecern for her health bu trying to make political points over the issue

Even as more and more facts come to light showing the shooter as a wacko leftie they liberal media continues to blame Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Genn Beck for the shooting

When the bridge collapsed in MN a few years ago, the bodies of the dead had not been recovered before Dems came out and blamed Pres Bush for it

For some reason, Dems delight in dancing on the graves of dead people if it means socring political points

The left is not scraping the bottom of the barrell on this issue - they have climbed under it

Seems the shooter turns out to be a liberal whack job

Though Leftist blogs and commentators wasted absolutely no time in declaring the gunman who shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was a Tea Party conservative (before anyone even knew his name), I held off on making any comments until a little more was known. It was automatically assumed that, since Giffords was a Democrat and that a (gasp) gun was used, the shooter must be an evil Tea Party conservative type.

Now details are starting to trickle in.

Fox News reports his name is Jared Loughner, though some other accounts now say it is Jared Laughner.

Business Insider reports he is an Arizona native and an Afghanistan war vet.

Some of the information coming out about him could fit in the profile of a conservative, but most of it fits the profile of a liberal…if not an outright wackjob that defies political categorization.

Business Insider also reports that his YouTube profile lists some of his favorite books including Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Communist Manifesto, and Mein Kampf. (Though I’ve read all those, I don’t think I’d call ANY of them my favorite).

A WorldNetDaily article quotes someone on Twitter who says they knew him in high school and college, and that he was very liberal, a Leftist.

Another report says one of his videos contains railing about a “second United States Constitution,” and something about currency. He says he won’t pay debts with a currency not backed by gold or silver, and that he does not trust in God.

Another video below shows him in what appears to be Islamic garb and burning an American flag. That same video also contains an obnoxious heavy metal song that says something about “bodies.” UPDATE: Though Atlas Shrugs said Fox News stated, others have now pointed out that this particular video was merely one listed as a “Favorite” on the shooter’s YouTube profile. The Atlas Shrugs website does still state that the figure in the video is supposedly the shooter (video taken by a friend?).

Still another of his videos talks about mind control and also says that religion is a form of mind control. The video has background music that sounds like a hip-hop version of some sort of Islamic beat.

UPDATE: CNS News reports a former classmate of the shooter says he was a “pot smoking loner.”

UPDATE: A Tweet from Stars and Stripes (the official newspaper of the U.S. military) earlier stated that Army officials have no record of military service by this individual (it is being alleged that he is an Afghanistan veteran).

UPDATE: The Arizona Daily Star reports the Army rejected Loughner as a recruit in 2008. Not surprising, given everything that seems to be coming out about this loon. Loughner’s definitely been listening to Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin, hasn’t he (wink, wink)?

Sorry, Burger King Kid, but this nutjob is one from your "camp."

a belief in the gold and silver standard of currency – a favourite topic of the rightwing of American politics that is regularly propounded by the Fox News commentator Glenn Beck.

The tone of Loughner's rantings is almost exclusively conservative and anti-government, with echoes of the populist campaigning of the Tea Party movement. "Don't trust the government listener!" he said in one video, accusing Washington of mind control and brainwashing.

The US constitution, the bible of the Tea Parties, features heavily, as does the suggestion that the federal government is acting against the text. "You don't have to accept the federalist laws. Read the United States of America constitution to apprehend all of the current treasonous laws."

You and he are the only ones here who obviously don't like the Constitution.

Typical left wing tactics. A shooting occurs and automatically the Left Wing goes into high gear claiming the person that did it is a right wing nut.

The Left never loses any time or any opportunity, no matter how terrible the circumstances, to it advantage.

It may be possible that the person that did this was simply deranged and not affiliated with any political group.

This is (at least) slightly disingenuous. The fact that most Americans aren't formally affiliated with any political group does not mean that they are completely centrist in their political ideals. We all have core beliefs, some of which lean left and others that lean right.

Seeing some of your posts ... you seem to want to paint the Right with a broad brush....

I remember the Left wishing a president were dead... let me refresh your memory....

from Sept 1 2006

LONDON, Sept. 1 -- Nearly every British newspaper on Friday carried photos of the "assassination" of President Bush -- or, rather, the eerily realistic depiction of it from a new documentary-style television film that is causing an uproar in Britain.

The film, "Death of a President," has been alternatively derided as a tasteless publicity grab and defended as a serious look at a plausible event that could have dramatic ramifications for the world.....

Dems/liberals/progressives are like buzzards

Don’t ever let a horrible slaughter at a supermarket go to waste.

A rescue helicopter lifts off as first responders evacuate victims from a “Congress on Your Corner” event in Tucson, Arizona, where U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) among others were shot and seriously wounded. (Reuters)

Democrats plotted to blame the tea party patriots for yesterday’s slaugher in Arizona.

A democratic operative admitted this to The Politico.

Of course, Politico buried it in their story.

One veteran Democratic operative, who blames overheated rhetoric for the shooting, said President Barack Obama should carefully but forcefully do what his predecessor did.

“They need to deftly pin this on the tea partiers,” said the Democrat. “Just like the Clinton White House deftly pinned the Oklahoma City bombing on the militia and anti-government people.”

Another Democratic strategist said the similarity is that Tucson and Oklahoma City both “take place in a climate of bitter and virulent rhetoric against the government and Democrats.”

This Democrat said that the time had come to insist that Republicans stand up when, for example, a figure such as Fox News commentator Glenn Beck says something incendiary.

The shooter was a pro-Marxist, anti-flag, anti-Constitution, anti-religious crackpot.
He was hardly a tea partier.

So… Is this why DHS is going after a hate group that just happens to have Gadsden Flags ads on their website?… And, the media is trying to link the pro-Marxist lunatic to the tea party?

This guy seems to be thoroughly nuts. I don’t know of any remotely sane liberal or conservative who would approve of shooting innocent people as he has done. So blaming people who had nothing to do with the crime as Leftists have rushed to do is of limited, at best, genuine value.

However, Leftists do in fact realize that, if they can spit it right and spin it often enough and consistently enough, they hope to successfully brand conservatives and Tea Party patriots as being responsible for this crime. They will (and already are) saying that because conservatives have refused to go along with their socialist agenda, we have been “divisive” and “full of hate” and have thus created a “climate of hostility” that has fostered such crimes.

Never mind that conservatives are always the first to champion the law-abiding cause. Never mind that conservatives are always the first to lift up the value of innocent human life. Never mind that conservatives are always the most reliable advocates of law and order. Never mind that conservatives are always the ones who are toughest on crime.

Who cares what he was motivated by; he's a wackjob. The only justification I care about is how to end his life in the quickest way possible! I think his actions served to thwart public inquiry into Federal government and qualify as treasonous -- death by execution -- a firing squad would suffice!

I'd hope neither is promoting murder of our gov't officials -- but I'm an idealist. It's sickening how media can slant a story. Well I guess what's sickening is people buy it.

I was talking to my mominlaw about local news last wkend. There was a group of kids who stole one of their parents' car and wrecked it around a pole at 5 in the morn- killing one or two. My mominlaw gets all pissed b/c the news report released the criminal record of one the kids killed. She claims there is no relevance to the info; so I asked her if she would have been as upset if they had mentioned this kid was on honor role; would it have made any difference in her take on the story? Well, of course it did; although the relevance of previous criminal behavior explains more about why someone willingly got into a stolen car than does school performance -- this is testimony to the power of media spin, or the weakness of the populus; not quite sure which is greater.

and the shooter is a 9/11 "truther" and had a grudge against Ms Gifford

As media outlet after media outlet advances the bogus theory that Jared Lee Loughner was incited to kill innocent people by the rhetoric of prominent conservatives, details emerging about the life of the Tucson gunman completely refute such assertions.

Adding to the growing list of evidence countering these claims is the following juicy tidbit buried in an Associated Press piece published Sunday (h/t Hot Air):

He believed the U.S. government was behind 9/11.

You know many conservatives that think the government, led by George W. Bush at the time, orchestrated the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon?

Further countering the absurdity of media claims concerning Loughner, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday:

"All he did was play video games and play music," said Tommy Marriotti, a high school friend. Mr. Marriotti said much of Mr. Loughner's free time was devoted to the school band. He wasn't especially political, Mr. Marriotti said, though he expressed frustration with the Bush Administration.

Did Loughner's "frustration with the Bush Administration" and belief "the U.S.government was behind 9/11" come from watching Fox News? Or listening to conservative talk radio? Or reading Sarah Palin's midterm elections strategy?

More importantly, it seems Loughner had a personal disliking for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) that had absolutely nothing to do with anything conservatives were saying about her, President Obama, or Democrats.

Once again from the Journal:

[Alex] Montanaro said his friend "was never really political," but "really tried to be philosophical." Mr. Loughner liked "contemplating the meaning of words and the origin of language," Mr. Montanaro said.

That interest might have triggered Mr. Loughner's first meeting with Ms. Giffords in 2007. Mr. Loughner said he asked the lawmaker, "How do you know words mean anything?" recalled Mr. Montanaro. He said Mr. Loughner was "aggravated" when Ms. Giffords, after pausing for a couple of seconds, "responded to him in Spanish and moved on with the meeting."

As with the Minneapolis bridge collapse in 2007, the left used dead people to score political points

Gov Pawlenty sumed it up perfectly:

“This is precisely one of the things outlined in the book is when you have a tragedy, it’s really important to get all the facts out on the table before people make judgments. One of the examples I use is when the bridge fell in Minneapolis, it was a terrible tragedy but while we were still rescuing people in the water, there was still an active rescue operation underway — we had people saying, one legislator called one of my staff people and say ‘we’re going to use this to carve the governor up politically.’ As it turns out a year later, the NTSB determined the bridge feel because of an original design flaw dating back to the 1960s, not because of some current event.”
