Ron Paul is in my opinion a straight shooter and a patriot, and yes, he won the cpac straw poll, but will not win the nomination. I think he won the vote there in 08 also but couldn't even come close to winning the nomination. He left himself wide open to ridicule in the debates and sounded weak on national defense.

I would vote for him in the general if he is on the republican ticket.

I'd agree with nearly everything except he can't win, and he's weak on defense.

He didn't want to go into Afghan or Iraq which in hindsight was clearly the wise way to go.

Frankly I don't see any defensive benny's from either war. many would agree that we made as many enemies as we've killed, if not more.

Oh for the days when you didn't have to be a rock star to become president.
ugly old Abe Lincoln couldn't be pres today, along with a big line up of other xpresidents.
people probably would think George Washington was to stuffy and a radical. With PSD from to many wars. and smoking hemp.

I think Pauls negatives go deeper than rock star quality. Look at Bush I and Bush II. McCain could have pulled it off had he been a more aggressive campaigner. In my opinion Pauls biggest problem is he doesn't tell people what they want to hear. Thats not good for a presidential candidate.

The republicans need to run someone who can actually win. Ron Paul and Palin are not those people.

I'd love to see Romney run, he knows how to run a business and can hopefully get this country moving in the right direction again. The only thing IMHO holding him back is his religion. There are a lot of people who wouldn't vote for him based on that.

Yep.
Blame TV first and Kennedy second :)

And the biggest problem with presidential candidates is they tell the people what they want to hear...

I guess you gotta pick your poison.

Paul's biggest problem is that too many disagree with what he's saying. It's not that he is saying 'what they don't want to hear,' it's that they don't agree with him. Thus the votes.

Paul's Biggest problem is the media right and left

and political dirty tricks

other mistakes by FOX with Paul.

....Was it another “mistake” to omit Paul’s name entirely from a Fox News survey last week that asked who would make the best president? Was it a “mistake” that relative nobodies like John Thune and Jon Huntsman were included in the Fox poll and yet Paul was blacklisted entirely despite his CPAC success two years running?
