Bush has always been the "crazy..." yea, "crazy as a fox",
underestimating your enemy is one of the most foolish things a person can do, and it plays into the ego of the opponent.
You don't think Kerry and Al "ego" Gore weren't primed for that?

Even though Bush did quite well in an upper scale education, no matter what he succeded at, it didn't matter as his critics would simply declare, "oh yea, he succeeded only because of daddy's money" (even though they didn't bother with a shred of evidence to support it)

because they knew the gullable (mostly vehemently angry liberals) would buy it-no questions asked- and they did.

I know this for a fact because every time someone proclaimed Bush was in charge of nothing but a long string of business failures, I would simply ask them some questions, which upon not being able to answer, they would get quite pissed off.

(I tell my kids my two favorite "finishes" for liberals in a debate are, Sputtering saliva, while angerly proclaiming "you just don't understand")

Bottom line is that Bush is "smart as a fox" and he UNDERSTOOD the job of Presidency much better than most, and that is DELEGATION of authority. His best character trait was judging others abilities, something I can be woefully lacking at. As is the case with many self employed, micro managing winds up being their downfall. Bush did not fall prey to that, his ego was quite well without proving it to all those around him.

LBJ, Carter and Gore were all great examples of how micro managing from a top level management posistion leads to only one thing--disaster.

Obama seems to be in a camp all of his own. Of course being a successful black politician from Chicago pretty much guarantees that.

While Bush picked competent generals who did well.

that was Bush's operation.

Operation I'll Let You Know What The Goal Is After the "generals on the ground" call me back.
