Not odd at all. Most of those riots took place outside the major areas of Beijing and Shanghai. Guess where all the money is going? Guess who's losing - rural areas. The peasants are revolting. They need another revolution to turf out the corrupt totalitarians running the show.

Not a bad idea, except I doubt the privation has reached the depths it has in China.
