I "bought" a movie online and then had to download it at 4.5gig - only to find out it was fully in German (2001 version called Das Experiment)

So I found they have an English version from 2010 called the Experiment which I "bought" and am downloading.

Anyone see the English version, or either version?

Just an update for anyone with an interest in seeing "The Experiment". This film stars Adrien Brody and Forest Whittaker. A select amount of men are chosen for an experiment that will pay them $1k per day for 14 days. Some will chosen to be prisoners in a makeshift prison while the rest will be the guards. They are told up front that some will in fact lose their civil liberties if chosen to be prisoners. They are assured that the experiment will be halted should any violence occur. Obviously something goes wrong.

Not the greatest movie I ever saw but definitely a damn good watch! I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10.

It's based on actual events that took place in the 60's as I remember. It was a study of how different people react to control and being controlled, and as I remember things did go wrong and there was a lot of violence. It's about how some people can become submissive and others abusive.

Hell, didn't know that, but that was the exact premise. Was a good story. Here's the IMDB link if anyone is interested:

They actually filmed a lot of it. I saw a film about in a college psych class back in 71. There was also a chapter on it in one of the text books. Glad you liked the movie and that it was worth the time to down load.

This is perhaps the most famous study of human behavior in the field of psychology. It's no wonder there exists German versions, as a great many parallels exist between the 1971 Stanford experiment and concentration camps during WWII. It's funny they use $1000/day; the Stanford experiment paid only $15/d--inflation I guess!
