For anyone in the Philly/Delaware/Maryland/New Jersey area, try a visit to Fort Delaware sometime. We went there today (2nd time for me), and had a really good time. It was a Civil War fort, and ended up also being a prison for thousands of Confederate soldiers.
It is on an island in the Delaware River, and you get there by a short ferry ride on the river. People are dressed in Civil War period uniforms, guns, civilian clothing, etc. Original cannon are still there too.
