Even though the Civil War ended generations ago, a property tax detail buried in Alabama's constitution still sets aside nearly half a million dollars a year for Confederate veterans' pensions

I don't think so..


On to the subject. IMHO the state should have stopped collecting this tax when the last recipient died.

But doing that could decrease the democrat voting rolls.
